The Web Designer will manage and enhance the Graduate & Professional Enrollment Management (GPEM) web presence to support strategic enrollment goals. This role involves employing best practices in web design, modifying, maintaining, and designing web content, and collaborating with multiple departments to produce digital communications including web content, email marketing campaigns, videos, and social media messaging. The Web Designer will work closely with the GPEM Admissions team, Enrollment Marketing, and University Marketing Communications (UMC) to ensure alignment with university brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Website Management: Modify, maintain, and design web content for the University’s centralized graduate recruitment website.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the GPEM Admissions team, campus partners, and Enrollment Marketing to design and produce digital content such as emails, videos, and social media messaging.
  • Design & Branding: Ensure all designs, content, and messaging align with the university’s brand standards, while continuously refreshing branding based on industry trends.
  • UI/UX Principles: Apply user interface and user experience principles to ensure website is intuitive, easy to navigate, and optimized for all users.
  • Slate Expertise: Provide expertise in using Slate for content blocks, datasets, and troubleshooting to enhance the digital experience.
  • Analytics & Optimization: Collaborate with Enrollment Systems Research and Reporting (ESRR) to analyze communications and web performance and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Campaign Support: Assist the admissions team with Slate campaign strategies, offering design recommendations based on target audience and messaging.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Art, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in web design, development, and programming in a corporate, educational, or freelance setting.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other visual design tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and scripting technologies.
  • Experience designing user-friendly, responsive websites and web content.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and contribute to digital communication strategy.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Slate (CRM software) for content management and campaigns.
  • Familiarity with current web design trends and technologies.
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices in higher education.
