The Web Designer, reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Communications, is responsible for managing the Graduate & Professional Enrollment Management (GPEM) web presence, ensuring that the design supports the strategic enrollment goals of the university. This role requires a deep understanding of web design best practices and a commitment to maintaining a user-friendly, visually appealing online presence.
Web Content Management: Modify, maintain, and design web content for the University’s centralized graduate recruitment website. Oversee the pattern library and style sheets, ensuring consistency and usability across the site.
Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the GPEM Admissions team, campus partners, and Enrollment Marketing to design and produce various digital collateral, including web content, email marketing campaigns, videos, and social media posts.
Brand Alignment: Partner with Enrollment Marketing and University Marketing Communications (UMC) to ensure all digital materials are aligned with the university’s brand standards, ensuring cohesion across platforms.
Recruitment Tools Design: Design and develop recruitment-based tools such as emails, portals, and other relevant platforms within the GPEM landscape to engage prospective students.
User Experience (UX): Apply user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) principles to design, maintain, and improve website pages, ensuring content is easy to understand and navigate.
Slate Expertise: Provide expertise in using Slate, including best practices for content blocks, dataset utilization, and troubleshooting assistance for the GPEM staff.
Analytics and Reporting: Work with Enrollment Systems Research and Reporting (ESRR) to make data-driven recommendations based on analytics from communications and web presence.
Design Recommendations: Assist the admissions team with design recommendations for Slate campaigns, ensuring they are tailored to specific messages and audiences. Refresh branding regularly to align with current industry trends.
Other Duties: Perform other tasks and assignments as required.
