AIG is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the Underwriting team by providing administrative and client servicing support, ensuring efficient operations and strong client relationships. This position requires knowledge of commercial insurance policy forms, regulatory requirements, and the ability to navigate multiple systems and processes. If you are proactive, detail-oriented, and have strong problem-solving skills, you could be a great fit for the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Servicing:

    • Anticipate and address client (internal and external) needs proactively.
    • Provide timely and accurate communication to clients and colleagues.
  • Underwriting Support:

    • Assist with preparing documentation, reports, and underwriting materials.
    • Manage multiple systems to track, monitor, and support underwriting tasks.
  • Documentation & Process Management:

    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for underwriting processes.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Problem Solving & Process Improvement:

    • Identify issues and propose solutions that align with underwriting goals.
    • Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Leadership & Mentorship:

    • Mentor peers in the team, providing guidance on underwriting support tasks.


  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in underwriting or related field.
    • Knowledge of commercial insurance policy forms and regulatory requirements is essential.
  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and navigate various proprietary, vendor, and web-based systems.
    • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks and situations.
    • Problem Solving: Ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
    • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in documentation and processes.
    • Leadership Skills: Capable of mentoring and supporting peers within the team.
