The Underwriting Coordinator will be joining our team at WKFC in Chicago, IL. This role involves assisting underwriters with tasks such as quoting, rating, and issuing new business, as well as handling quotes, renewals, and endorsements.

WKFC offers a wide range of Property and Casualty insurance products catering to Habitational, Real Estate, and Lessor’s Risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in every step of the underwriting process in collaboration with the underwriting operations team.
  • Communicate with Underwriters and the Operations team to confirm quotes, and policy issuance instructions, and ensure that forms, endorsements, notices, etc., are accurately handled.
  • Follow up with brokers for additional information as needed.
  • Ensure the correct forms and endorsements are issued during both quoting and policy issuance in partnership with Underwriters.
  • Generate reports for management, including exposure data, loss runs, broker submissions, declinations, and other specific requests.
  • Support underwriters with new business projects and customer-related activities.
  • Monitor premium payments and assist in calculating premium amounts, resolving discrepancies, and issuing invoices.
  • Ensure all underwriting workflow tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in peer review and quality control efforts when necessary.
  • Contribute to special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Risk Management.
  • 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role or industry.
  • Proficient knowledge of insurance policies and issuance systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
