Position Overview:

Habitat Chicago is seeking a skilled Technology Coordinator to manage and maintain IT systems across multiple locations. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of IT infrastructure, implementing IT solutions according to organizational standards, and researching and developing existing solutions. The Technology Coordinator will also play a key role in managing hardware and software upgrades, troubleshooting IT issues, and coordinating larger IT projects.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, as the role involves working with various teams and stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain IT systems to support Habitat Chicago’s strategic plans and overall effectiveness.
  • Monitor IT system performance and recommend improvements to enhance cost efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with teams to build technical capacity and ownership of business processes.
  • Provide recommendations on IT strategies, policies, and procedures based on organizational needs.
  • Prepare cost-benefit analysis reports for IT upgrades and analyze vendor services for optimal value.
  • Create training materials, presentations, and new policies related to technology.
  • Provide training and support for staff on both software and hardware.
  • Lead the Technology Steering Committee, setting agendas and overseeing decision implementations.

Systems and Technology Maintenance (40%)

  • Evaluate technology needs and recommend improvements to software and hardware.
  • Manage the operational budget and oversee expenditures for IT.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues or escalate to vendors as necessary.
  • Collaborate with vendors and managers to understand and assess computing and system needs.
  • Maintain core IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, email systems, and hardware.

Systems and Data Security (15%)

  • Implement disaster recovery and backup procedures, ensuring data security and control.
  • Develop business continuity protocols to minimize disruptions in case of emergencies or data loss.
  • Oversee Microsoft 365 support and manage incident response and hardware deployment.
  • Lead PCI compliance efforts and maintain related training materials and documentation.
  • Maintain and lead cybersecurity awareness and Security Incident Response programs.

Other Responsibilities (10%)

  • Serve as the liaison between staff and IT vendors.
  • Procure and provision new or donated equipment.
  • Oversee the proper disposal and donation of hardware, ensuring data is securely wiped.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT assets.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-5 years in IT management, systems administration, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Salesforce, cloud-based phone systems, and general IT systems management.
  • Security & Compliance: Familiarity with disaster recovery procedures, data security, and PCI compliance.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
