Tech Designer

Blue Origin is recruiting for a position in their New Shepard program, focusing on the design and development of electrical harnesses for space vehicles. The role involves working with a diverse team to design, develop, and test wiring harnesses, create CAD models, and manage various components and assemblies. The position requires a passion for space exploration, technical expertise in harness design, and the ability to work collaboratively across different teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical harnesses for various systems (power distribution, RF, communication, etc.).
• Create 3D routed harness data files and 2D flat harness drawings.
• Design harness support brackets and support design configuration and trade studies.
• Provide regular updates on activity, schedule, and technical progress.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Passion for Blue Origin’s mission.
• A.S. degree in drafting and design or equivalent design experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience in cable harness design.
• Strong skills in 3-D CAD software; experience with Creo Cabling is highly desired.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and harness standards.
• U.S. citizenship or appropriate work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or design experience.
• Proficiency with Creo/Windchill and other relevant software.
• 6+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with specific connectors, wires, and harness fabrication processes.
• Hands-on harnessing skills and experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft harnessing systems.

Compensation:

• Range for WA applicants: $76,320.00-$106,848.00
