The Team Lead, Production oversees day-to-day operations of an assigned shift, ensuring effective supervision of personnel and equipment. This role involves training, coaching, and supporting team members while maintaining rigorous standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The position reports to the Plant Production Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shift Operations: Coordinate activities for hourly and temporary staff, ensuring efficient operations, proper training, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Sanitation & Troubleshooting: Assign sanitation duties, address machine issues, and reassign team members as needed to maintain production flow.
  • Coaching & Communication: Facilitate team meetings, provide feedback to employees, and communicate critical information to supervisors.
  • Training & Development: Organize cross-training for personnel to enhance operational versatility.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Enforce policies, safety standards, GMPs, and HACCP requirements.
  • Inspection & Reporting: Inspect materials, products, and equipment, documenting issues and ensuring timely completion of shift paperwork.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in lean initiatives, safety training, and suggest operational improvements.
  • Additional Duties: Perform tasks as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in English (written and oral).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel; experience with SAP preferred.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree.
