SABIS®, a global education network with a presence in 21 countries, is seeking a Social Worker. The Social Worker will be responsible for ensuring that students reach their academic and personal potential by providing or arranging necessary social services for referred students. The role also involves addressing behavioral issues, collaborating with staff, and maintaining discipline to support a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Services:
- Develop intervention plans and performance objectives for designated students in alignment with their needs, strengths, and experiences.
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Analyses for referred students.
- Provide counseling and consultation services to students and their families as needed.
- Participate in due process proceedings when necessary to support student outcomes.
Managing Lateness, Absences, and Disciplinary Offenses:
- Record student lateness and absences, ensuring timely communication with parents.
- Ensure classes run smoothly by addressing students arriving late and keeping records of infractions.
- Inform and coordinate with the School Management Coordinator (SMC) for further action if needed.
- Address disruptive behavior by removing students from class when necessary and following up with disciplinary measures.
- Oversee detention schedules and communicate disciplinary actions to students and parents.
- Maintain regular meetings with the SMC and Academic Quality Controller (AQC) to discuss daily offenses and disciplinary issues.
- Monitor classroom dismissals and student safety during transportation.
Teacher/Staff Oversight:
- Report to the School Director on staff offenses, such as tardiness, early dismissals, classroom negligence, or inappropriate conduct.
- Ensure absent teachers' classes are covered and have the proper lesson plan.
Ideal Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Sociology.
- Background in student management and discipline.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Professional behavior, ethical conduct, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain a serious and responsible demeanor.
