Summer Associate

Join Rabobank's Project Finance Americas team as a Summer Associate and gain hands-on experience in structuring and executing renewable energy financing transactions. This unique internship will provide you with exposure to various renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, battery storage, energy efficiency, fuel cells, and electric vehicles (EVs). As an integral member of our deal teams, you will learn from experienced colleagues while contributing to impactful projects in the renewable energy sector.

Internship Overview

Rabobank’s internship program serves as a key pathway for identifying and developing new talent. Designed to provide a valuable learning experience, this summer program will allow interns to actively contribute to the business and explore diverse career paths within Rabobank worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

As a Summer Associate - Project Finance, your role will include:

• Deal Team Contribution: Act as an essential member of deal teams by structuring and executing renewable energy financing transactions.
• Relationship Building: Develop relationships with stakeholders within the organization and the broader industry.
• Expertise Development: Gain and share expertise on various renewable energy technologies and financing structures.
• Technical Analysis: Review and analyze technical reports, insurance reports, and financial models.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Construct and evaluate financial models for renewable energy projects and other project finance transactions.
• Understand key financing risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them.
• Review key project documents, including Power Purchase Agreements, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Agreements, and Operations and Maintenance Agreements.
• Assess reports from transmission, market, independent engineering, appraisal, and insurance consultants.
• Draft internal transaction documents and credit memos.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Summer Associate - Project Finance role, you must have:

• Experience: At least one year of work experience involving financial modeling.
• Knowledge: Basic understanding of project finance and key risk factors in transactions.
• Preferred Background: Previous experience in investment banking, investment research, or renewable energy project development is preferred.
• Passion for Renewables: A strong interest in renewable energy and the broader Energy Transition.
• Education: Currently enrolled in a graduate program.

Salary Expectations

• Target Hiring Range: $75.60 per hour
