We are currently seeking a Strategist to join our Chicago studio. This role involves working closely with senior team members to analyze workplace dynamics and develop strategies that help clients achieve their goals through effective workplace design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement & Data Collection:
    Engage with clients to gather data, perform research, and analyze factors affecting workplace environments such as employee work patterns, communication, organizational culture, and process integration.

  • Analysis & Strategy Development:
    Synthesize collected data into actionable solutions and strategic recommendations to improve workplace effectiveness, with a focus on short- and long-term client goals.

  • Collaboration with Design Teams:
    Work closely with design and technical staff to develop integrated solutions aligned with the client's workplace objectives.

  • Research & Thought Leadership:
    Continuously conduct research on workplace strategies, trends, and innovations. Write papers or deliver presentations on strategy topics to enhance IA’s practice and thought leadership.

  • Project Deliverables & Management:
    Create detailed project deliverables in line with the scope of work, and manage your workload while coordinating with others to support the successful completion of projects.

  • Client Presentations & Proposals:
    Regularly present findings and solutions to clients. Assist in writing proposals and participating in client interviews to secure new business.

  • Enhance Practice Tools & Resources:
    Participate in initiatives to improve IA’s internal tools, resources, and best practices for workplace strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    A graduate of architecture, design, or business school; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Experience:
    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in corporate interior design projects or equivalent, along with 3+ years in strategy consulting.

  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of design principles and strategies.
    • Intermediate documentation and field observation skills.
    • A clear understanding of the relationship between design and its value to business.
    • Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (intermediate level).
    • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop).
    • Ability to manage and lead junior staff through direct authority and expertise.
