Role Overview: The Staff Accountant II will play a key role in managing reimbursement accounting functions for multiple hospitals within the Florida Hospital Tampa Bay area facilities. This position involves analyzing and summarizing data related to net revenue, accounts receivable, and allowances, and supporting financial audits and governmental filings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statement Support: Generate and organize source reports for net revenue valuation, reconcile Medicare logs, and prepare, record, and analyze monthly and year-end closing journal entries.
  • Reimbursement Assistance: Assist with Medicare, Medicaid, and AHCA cost reports, and support financial and governmental audits.
  • Data Management: Compile and summarize data for senior accounting and finance personnel, maintaining organized records for regulatory compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work with AHS Corporate Reimbursement, patient financial services, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to standards.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively partner with the reimbursement accounting team to enhance processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management. A Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: At least three years of progressive experience in corporate general accounting services, including financial statement closing responsibilities.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare schedules for management or regulatory reporting.
    • Experience in measurable performance improvement within a finance department.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
