As we evolve, content strategy plays a key role, and we’re seeking a content leader to drive this transformation across our Consumer portfolio, which includes PayPal and Venmo.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of content design, leading a team that impacts millions of users worldwide. You will work alongside experts in Design, Research, and Operations to create world-class content experiences, scale operations, and build a high-performing team.
Team Leadership & Strategy:
Lead content design teams across PayPal’s Consumer portfolio, guiding them through cross-functional collaborations, removing obstacles, and influencing stakeholders at every level of the product lifecycle. Set global objectives and key results for content experiences, using data to drive decisions and optimize performance.
Content & Design Process Leadership:
Raise the bar for content strategy, operations, research, systems, and methodologies, including emerging technologies like generative AI. Drive best practices for accessibility, inclusion, and content management at scale.
Collaborative Strategy Development:
Shape team and content strategies, identifying risks and prioritizing opportunities. Work closely with product management, engineering, user research, and other key partners to ensure content strategies align with business and user goals.
Scaling & Mentoring:
Build and scale content design processes, collaborating with the Design Systems team to embed content guidelines at the systems level. Attract top-tier talent to the team, coaching leaders and fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
Cross-functional Influence:
Influence product and design strategies, ensuring content recommendations are integrated throughout the product development cycle. Lead discovery efforts and use quantitative and qualitative research to shape content strategy.
Global Content Leadership:
Ensure content strategies are globally relevant, including localization and accessibility. Monitor and guide the development of UX writing, content audits, gap analyses, and content modeling.
Experience:
12+ years of experience in content-related fields, with at least 6 years focused on product content design. 8+ years of experience in leading content teams, with 4+ years managing managers.
Proven Leadership:
Strong experience building and leading content teams, including attracting, developing, and retaining top content talent. Proven track record of defining content strategies that deliver significant impact.
Strategic & Tactical Expertise:
Experience defining and executing content strategies across global audiences. Expertise in UX writing, content modeling, and using content management systems. A deep understanding of the relationship between content strategy and user-centered design.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
5+ years of experience working with product management, engineering, user research, content, and design teams to create impactful content strategies.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with emerging content tools and technologies, including AI-driven solutions, and the ability to apply these to improve quality, efficiency, and scale.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in creative writing, information design, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
