Software Engineer

As a⠀DevOps⠀Engineer,⠀you’ll⠀take part⠀in the⠀design,⠀development,⠀and⠀deployment⠀of⠀applications/tools⠀to⠀automate/enhance⠀ITMFG⠀processes⠀and to⠀better⠀manage⠀manufacturing⠀systems.⠀In this⠀role,⠀you’ll⠀be⠀expected⠀to take⠀ownership⠀of and⠀develop⠀solutions⠀for⠀complex⠀problems,⠀while⠀closely⠀collaborating⠀with ITMFG⠀support⠀teams.⠀You’ll⠀be⠀expected⠀to move⠀projects⠀along at⠀an⠀aggressive⠀pace and⠀ensure the⠀developed⠀solutions⠀are secure⠀and⠀scalable⠀across our⠀factories⠀globally.

• Identify⠀requirements⠀and⠀develop/build⠀new⠀tools/applications⠀from⠀scratch
• Know⠀your app!⠀Seek to⠀understand⠀all⠀aspects -⠀business⠀and⠀technical⠀- of the⠀applications⠀on which⠀you work⠀so that⠀you can be⠀the most⠀effective
• Continue⠀to learn⠀and apply⠀relevant⠀software⠀development⠀practices,⠀patterns,⠀tools, and⠀technologies.
• Design⠀and⠀develop⠀high⠀quality,⠀scalable,⠀and⠀distributed⠀web⠀application⠀and/or⠀backend⠀services
• Design⠀efficient/cohesive⠀database⠀schemas
• Create⠀Jenkins-pipeline/GitHub-Actions⠀and⠀configure⠀application⠀for⠀Kubernetes⠀deployments
• Work⠀with⠀asynchronous⠀tasks and⠀implement⠀mechanisms⠀of⠀caching
• Design⠀easy-to-use⠀web⠀interfaces⠀following⠀Tesla⠀design⠀heuristics
• Utilize⠀rest-API⠀to⠀communicate⠀with⠀backend⠀application
• Follow⠀Tesla’s⠀high⠀standards⠀for⠀security-best⠀practices⠀in all⠀development

• Ability to⠀identify⠀tasks⠀which⠀require⠀automation⠀and to⠀automate⠀them
• Familiar⠀with⠀network⠀terminology/infrastructure⠀(i.e.,⠀switches,⠀gateways,⠀firewalls,⠀TCP/IP,⠀VLAN,⠀etc.)
• Ensuring⠀security⠀guidelines⠀at every⠀step of⠀the⠀development⠀process
• Design⠀and⠀development⠀experience⠀with⠀applications⠀that⠀require⠀high⠀availability,⠀concurrency,⠀multi-tenancy,⠀scalability
• Detail-oriented,⠀can⠀identify⠀and fix⠀bugs, and⠀write⠀quality⠀code that⠀runs⠀efficiently
• Proficency⠀in Python⠀or Golang⠀(react/frontend⠀dev is a⠀plus)
• Experience⠀with⠀web-frameworks⠀like⠀Django,⠀Flask,⠀FastAPI
• Experience⠀with⠀Docker and⠀Kubernetes
• Experience⠀with SQL,⠀Kafka,⠀Redis
• Background⠀in⠀observability⠀(I.e⠀Splunk,⠀Grafana,⠀MetricsQL)⠀is a plus
