ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
- Conducts⠀assessments⠀of⠀students,⠀families⠀and⠀system/organization⠀with the⠀goal of⠀improving⠀student⠀social,⠀emotional,⠀behavioral⠀and⠀academic⠀outcomes.
- Demonstrates⠀the⠀ability to⠀handle⠀confidential⠀information⠀(FERPA).
- Coordinates⠀short term⠀interventions⠀focused on⠀improving⠀academic⠀engagement⠀and⠀reducing⠀problematic⠀behavior⠀as well as⠀facilitating⠀meetings⠀with the⠀appropriate⠀parties on⠀outcomes⠀of any/all⠀interventions.
- Maintains⠀accurate⠀data and⠀records⠀that are⠀relevant⠀to⠀planning,⠀implementation,⠀and⠀evaluation⠀of student⠀services.
- Creates⠀and⠀manages a⠀referral⠀process⠀for⠀support⠀services⠀on and off⠀campus.
- Ability⠀to work⠀effectively⠀as part of⠀a⠀multi-disciplinary⠀team⠀including⠀the⠀Assistant⠀Director⠀of⠀Disability⠀Services⠀Office/Garden⠀State⠀Pathways,⠀mentors,⠀job coach,⠀staff and⠀faculty.
- Provides⠀staff and⠀faculty⠀with the⠀appropriate⠀tools and⠀training⠀to⠀understand⠀and meet⠀the⠀student⠀academic,⠀social and⠀emotional⠀needs.
- Advises⠀and⠀counsel⠀students⠀to enhance⠀their⠀academic⠀and social⠀growth and⠀increase⠀their⠀responsibilities⠀for⠀behaviors⠀and⠀attitude.
- Ability⠀to work⠀directly⠀with⠀people⠀from⠀diverse⠀racial,⠀ethnic and⠀socio-economic⠀backgrounds.
- Attends⠀required⠀staff⠀meetings.
- Provides⠀crisis⠀counseling⠀on an as⠀needed⠀basis to⠀students⠀in the GSP⠀Program.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s⠀Degree⠀required,⠀Master’s⠀Degree⠀preferred⠀in Social⠀Work or⠀another⠀related⠀field.
- MSW⠀or LCSW⠀certification⠀preferred.
- Prior⠀experience⠀working⠀with⠀students⠀with⠀Intellectual/Developmental⠀Disabilities.
- Knowledge⠀of⠀interpreting⠀and⠀applying⠀Federal⠀Regulation⠀504 and⠀the⠀American⠀with⠀Disabilities⠀Act.
- Knowledge⠀of and⠀ability to⠀interpret⠀results of⠀various⠀assessments⠀and⠀diagnostic⠀tools such⠀as IEP’s⠀and formal⠀evaluations⠀used to⠀diagnose⠀different⠀types of⠀disabilities.
- Ability⠀to manage⠀multiple⠀tasks⠀simultaneously⠀and work⠀in a busy⠀and⠀collaborative⠀team⠀environment.
- Excellent⠀written⠀skills and⠀presentation⠀skills.
- Computer⠀skills-MS⠀Office⠀Suite.
