The SEO Controller will play a pivotal role in optimizing Emirates' digital platforms to maximize organic search performance. This role is essential in maintaining SEO standards across the Emirates digital ecosystem, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders adhere to best practices in search engine optimization (SEO). By collaborating with product, design, social media, PR, performance media teams, and Emirates Group IT, the SEO Controller will drive organic traffic, increasing flight searches and bookings from organic sources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote SEO awareness and implementation standards across internal teams, ensuring that Emirates digital properties are SEO-compliant before changes are implemented.
- Deliver technical SEO reports that forecast the impact of changes, while ensuring SEO fundamentals such as meta tags, canonicals, heading usage, sitemaps, multilingual site structures, structured data, and Core Web Vitals adhere to best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to research, define, and develop content that drives organic growth.
- Use internal SEO tools or external agency insights to identify technical SEO errors and recommend implementation improvements.
- Initiate SEO enhancements to improve the customer experience, particularly in areas underserved by organic search.
- Stay updated on evolving web technologies such as Progressive Web Applications (PWA) and Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), advising stakeholders on their SEO impact.
- Educate stakeholders on the importance of content in driving SEO performance.
- Collaborate with external SEO agencies and internal analytics teams to develop KPIs, set up tracking, and create dashboards to demonstrate SEO impact to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Marketing, Communications, or E-Commerce.
- 3-5 years of experience in a digital role, either client-side or agency-side.
- Expert knowledge of technical SEO best practices, including SEO site architecture, HTML, site speed optimization, automation, and scalability.
- Strong understanding of the role of content in organic search.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end performance as it relates to SEO.
- Proficiency in using Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, Majestic SEO, and Moz.
- Awareness of global search engines beyond Google, such as Bing, Baidu, Yandex, and Naver.
- A solid understanding of how digital channels impact Organic Search.
- Initiative and reliability, with excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English is required.
