Security Service Technician

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Security Specialist to join our Services Department as a Field Service Technician. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in relevant security roles, with a broad range of technical knowledge and hands-on expertise in configuring, calibrating, and repairing security systems and equipment. This role requires proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting installed products at customer field locations, ensuring smooth operation and technical support both remotely and on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
  Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support services on installed security products, such as CCTV, card access systems, and video surveillance equipment.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system malfunctions in both remote and on-site settings.
  • Evaluate whether products need upgrades or replacements based on performance or technical obsolescence.

• On-Demand Service:
  Respond promptly to On-Demand service calls, ensuring quick resolution of technical issues to minimize customer downtime.

• Training and Support:
  May provide on-site training for customer support personnel, ensuring proper usage and maintenance of security systems.

  • Assist and train lower-level employees on equipment handling and troubleshooting techniques.

• After-Hours Support:
  Participate in on-call rotation to handle after-hours service requests and emergencies, providing necessary support and repairs.

• Operational Expertise:
  Utilize broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools to perform maintenance and repairs, leveraging extensive work experience and possibly vocational or technical education.

Qualifications:

• Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in relevant security or field service roles.
  • Strong experience with CCTV systems, including knowledge of Pelco, Genetec, MileStone, AXIS video surveillance technologies.
  • Familiarity with card access systems such as Continuum, Genetec, RS2 is preferred.
  • Experience with network devices and commercial customer sites.

• Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve malfunctions in security systems.
  • Security expertise in managing and maintaining access control, video surveillance, and related security technologies.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.

• Certifications (Preferred):

  • Experience or certifications in CCTV, Card Access Systems, or other security technologies.
