The Sample Librarian is responsible for maintaining the sample inventory and ensuring all client requests are fulfilled quickly and accurately. This position involves organizing and managing fabric samples, maintaining the showroom floor, and supporting outside sales associates with sample distribution. The Sample Librarian plays a key role in ensuring the showroom is well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Management: Fill sample requests and order missing samples for clients, keeping inventory levels current and ensuring a quick response to client needs.
- Fabric Area Maintenance: Organize and merchandise fabrics, create engaging displays, and manage new and discontinued items on the showroom floor.
- Price List Management: Maintain and update the textile price list and other necessary sales tools, ensuring pricing accuracy and proper stock.
- Sales Support: Assist clients and sales associates with product identification, sample requests, and pricing information, both in-person and over the phone.
- Showroom Maintenance: Keep the showroom floor neat and visually appealing, ensuring all marketing materials and sales tools are available.
- Shipping and Receiving: Handle incoming and outgoing showroom packages.
- General Administrative Support: Order office supplies, manage tear sheet library inventory, and ensure marketing materials are placed in shopping bags.
- Client Interaction: Greet clients, assist with inquiries, and ensure an exceptional showroom experience.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience: 1-2 years working in a retail, design, or showroom environment.
- Skills:
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to lift 20-50 lbs.

Working Environment:
- This is an active, physically demanding role where you will spend most of your time on your feet, organizing and managing various tasks in the showroom and sample areas.
