Responsibilities:
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Resolving⠀technical⠀issues and⠀ensuring⠀compliance⠀with⠀contract⠀requirements.
- Reviewing⠀and⠀assisting⠀in⠀resolving⠀safety⠀Risks to⠀proposed⠀diversion⠀route such⠀as⠀temporary⠀road⠀layout,⠀signing,⠀temporary/permanent⠀safety⠀barriers,⠀lighting⠀on⠀carriageway.
- Managing⠀assigned⠀Audit Team⠀sub-ordinates
- Providing⠀input into⠀Traffic⠀and⠀highway⠀design⠀including⠀geometric⠀road⠀design,⠀signs,⠀markings,⠀and road⠀furniture⠀and safety⠀barriers
- Preparing⠀pro-actively,⠀various⠀reports,⠀leading,⠀and⠀carrying⠀out safety⠀audits on⠀a wide⠀variety of⠀highway⠀scheme⠀types,⠀including⠀temporary⠀traffic⠀diversions,⠀major⠀highways,⠀intersections,⠀vulnerable⠀road⠀users,⠀traffic⠀signals,⠀local⠀areas⠀traffic⠀management,⠀and⠀temporary⠀traffic⠀management⠀schemes.
- Performing⠀Accident⠀investigation,⠀evaluation⠀of⠀collision⠀data, and⠀prepare⠀prevention⠀studies⠀with⠀evaluation⠀and⠀remedial⠀measures⠀to avoid⠀accidents
- Preparing,⠀reviewing⠀and⠀approving⠀traffic⠀management⠀plans and⠀traffic⠀diversions⠀during⠀construction
- Attending⠀and⠀managing⠀traffic⠀management⠀coordination⠀meetings⠀with⠀designers,⠀contractors,⠀clients⠀and other⠀stakeholders
- Perform⠀safety⠀assessments⠀and⠀operational⠀risk⠀assessments⠀on⠀operational⠀transport⠀premises⠀such as⠀industrial⠀sites,⠀warehouses,⠀airports,⠀etc.
- Carrying⠀out other⠀types of⠀project⠀work as⠀necessary⠀including,⠀for⠀example,⠀accessibility⠀audit⠀work,⠀detailed⠀collision⠀/ casualty⠀research⠀with⠀associated⠀statistical⠀analysis,⠀the⠀development⠀of road⠀safety and⠀speed⠀management⠀plans,⠀Quality⠀Audits,⠀road user⠀audits and⠀highway⠀improvement⠀/ traffic⠀management⠀design⠀work
Qualifications:
To be⠀successful⠀in this⠀dynamic⠀opportunity,⠀we⠀envision⠀that your⠀career⠀journey to⠀date will⠀include 5⠀years (2⠀years of⠀which,⠀will be⠀spent as⠀part of an⠀Audit⠀Team) of⠀Safety⠀Engineering,⠀Crash⠀Analysis⠀or⠀Collision⠀Investigations.⠀Knowledge⠀of Highway⠀Design is⠀required⠀as well to⠀be able to⠀handle⠀this role⠀competently.
A⠀Bachelor⠀of Science⠀degree and⠀either⠀Master’s⠀degree in⠀traffic⠀related⠀safety/engineering⠀discipline⠀and/or⠀training⠀certifications⠀from⠀internationally⠀recognized⠀institutions⠀is⠀required⠀to be held⠀from the⠀successful⠀candidate.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have:
- Attended a⠀10-day⠀recognized⠀Collision⠀Investigation⠀or Road⠀Safety⠀Engineering⠀course.
- Completed⠀at least 5⠀Road⠀Safety⠀Audits in⠀the past⠀12 months⠀as an⠀Audit Team⠀Leader or⠀member;⠀and one of⠀them⠀should be⠀within the⠀UAE.
- Completed⠀a minimum⠀of 2 days⠀Continuing⠀Professional⠀Development⠀(CPD) in⠀the fields⠀of Road⠀Safety⠀Audit,⠀Collision⠀Investigation⠀or Road⠀Safety⠀Engineering⠀in the⠀past 12⠀months.
