Key Responsibilities

  1. Reservation and Registration Support:

    • Assist customers with reservations for theater events, sports facilities, pools, gyms, and other community spaces.
    • Register citizens for classes, sports, and programs.
    • Use specialized software for booking, tracking availability, and financial data recording.
  2. Customer Service:

    • Answer inquiries about policies, procedures, and event details.
    • Provide excellent customer service, resolving complaints, and directing questions as necessary.
    • Educate customers on reservation/registration software and processes.
  3. Financial Transactions:

    • Collect fees for permits, classes, and rentals, handling cash, credit, and debit transactions.
    • Balance cash drawer, daily receipts, and deposits.
  4. Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain and file registration and reservation documents.
    • Perform data entry, generate reports, issue customer statements and invoices, and process permits.
    • Conduct mailings and other clerical tasks.
  5. Facility and Event Support:

    • Provide public information on event schedules, prices, and seating.
    • Assist in setting up displays and maintaining facility reference materials.
    • Work at the information desk and provide support for event ticketing.


Specialized Assignments

  • Arts and Culture:
    • Sell theater subscriptions and single tickets for the Mesa Arts Center.
    • Provide information on event performances and class schedules.
    • Assist with memberships, artist space rentals, and class supply sales.


Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 3-5 years of direct customer service experience, especially in high-volume settings, or two years of experience with specialized reservation/registration software or call center work.
  • Special Requirements:

    • Bilingual in English/Spanish at an intermediate level (must pass a test, as applicable).
    • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire (as needed).
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in a fast-paced customer service role.
    • Familiarity with public sector recreation services.
    • Relevant certifications in recreation or sports areas (e.g., swimming, adaptive services).
