What to Expect

The QE⠀Audit Team⠀is a group⠀of highly⠀skilled⠀Quality⠀technicians⠀that⠀evaluate⠀vehicles⠀in various⠀Quality⠀gates⠀across the⠀factory to⠀identify⠀defect⠀escapes⠀and⠀provide⠀quick⠀feedback⠀to the⠀Inspection⠀and⠀Production⠀teams. The⠀purpose of⠀the⠀Quality⠀Audit team⠀is to⠀eliminate/minimize⠀defect⠀escapes⠀from the⠀factory by⠀performing⠀regular⠀audits,⠀maintaining⠀a tight⠀feedback⠀loop with⠀the⠀factory⠀stakeholders⠀and by⠀supporting⠀continuous⠀quality⠀improvement⠀activities,⠀thus⠀yielding⠀beneficial⠀results⠀and higher⠀efficiency⠀for Tesla.

What You’ll Do

Perform Vehicle Quality Audits at Quality gates across the factory to measure and improve Quality KPIs

Perform⠀Fault⠀injections⠀on the⠀line to⠀determine⠀effectiveness⠀of⠀inspections
Report⠀defect⠀trends to⠀Quality⠀leaders⠀(using⠀both⠀written⠀and verbal⠀communication⠀methods)
Perform⠀Time⠀studies⠀and Defect⠀trend⠀audits to⠀support⠀development⠀of work⠀instructions⠀based on⠀Cycle time⠀availability⠀and defect⠀occurrence⠀rates
Support⠀Special⠀Quality⠀projects⠀and⠀dynamic⠀process⠀changes in⠀day-to-day⠀work as it⠀pertains⠀to⠀Business⠀priorities
Support⠀offsite⠀quality⠀containments⠀when⠀required
Perform⠀inspections⠀on Media⠀vehicles /⠀High⠀priority⠀vehicle⠀orders
Train⠀Quality⠀inspectors⠀and new⠀quality⠀auditors⠀when⠀required
Walk⠀back to⠀point of⠀Defect⠀occurrence/escape⠀to⠀support,⠀retrain or⠀conduct⠀stand⠀downs.
Establish⠀first line⠀of defense⠀for⠀immediate⠀containment⠀activities⠀(i.e.,⠀operator⠀retrain,⠀defective⠀part⠀segregation,⠀etc.)
Utilize⠀Quality⠀dashboards⠀to quickly⠀observe⠀defect⠀trends and⠀support⠀containment⠀activities
Collaborate⠀with⠀Engineering⠀teams to⠀support⠀investigation,⠀containment,⠀and⠀countermeasure⠀implementation

Ability to⠀interpret⠀vehicle⠀inspection⠀specifications⠀and⠀standardized⠀work⠀instructions
Ability⠀to detect⠀defects⠀(visually/using⠀touch and⠀feel/⠀using⠀gauges) in⠀a⠀fast-paced⠀environment
Experience⠀with⠀measurement⠀and⠀inspection⠀tools⠀(Calipers,⠀Gap&Flush⠀Gauges,⠀Measuring⠀Tape,⠀etc.)
An⠀understanding⠀of various⠀vehicle⠀parts and⠀Fit &⠀Finish⠀Quality⠀issues
MS⠀Excel⠀Skills -⠀Ability to⠀create⠀charts and⠀perform⠀basic⠀calculations⠀(percentages,⠀sum,⠀average⠀etc.)
Ability⠀to⠀differentiate⠀between⠀several⠀defect⠀types
Ability⠀to perform⠀detailed⠀daily⠀record⠀keeping⠀and⠀reporting⠀of quality⠀issues⠀that will⠀be⠀referenced⠀by⠀technicians,⠀engineers,⠀and⠀management
Ability⠀to⠀understand⠀and⠀determine⠀basic⠀causes for⠀manufacturing⠀related⠀defects
At⠀least 6⠀months of⠀experience⠀in an⠀automotive,⠀production⠀or quality⠀assurance⠀environment
Ability⠀to work in⠀a⠀team-based⠀environment⠀with a⠀proactive⠀mindset to⠀achieve⠀common⠀goals
Ability,⠀willingness⠀to travel⠀domestically⠀(~5% to⠀10%)
