The Property Accounting Associate will provide accounting and administrative support for a portfolio of properties, including tasks such as bank account reconciliations and report package assembly.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular bank account reconciliations to maintain accurate daily cash balances.
- Support the Property Accounting team in compiling monthly financial information, ensuring compliance with deadlines, accounting policies, and internal controls.
- Assist in preparing financial packages for multiple clients with unique reporting requirements.
- Review reports and record journal entries to maintain income and revenue using industry-specific software.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with Property Accountants, providing exceptional customer service.
- Work independently to complete assigned tasks.
- Utilize tools and systems to complete tasks efficiently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- College coursework in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience (preferred).
Skills & Software:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Yardi (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Capable of reading documents, computer screens, and data.
- Ability to hear and understand verbal communications in person and via phone/computer.
- Occasionally lift or carry items up to 15 pounds.
- Operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
Work Environment
- Hybrid Role: Requires 3 days per week in a corporate or regional office.
- Office Setting: Open environment with potential distractions, bright lights, and constant noise.
