Thunder⠀Bay Press,⠀Canterbury⠀Classics,⠀and⠀Portable⠀Press, the⠀adult⠀publishing⠀imprints⠀of⠀Printers⠀Row⠀Publishing⠀Group, are⠀seeking a⠀Project⠀Editor to⠀join a⠀growing⠀team⠀dedicated⠀to the⠀development⠀of⠀innovative⠀and⠀market-driven⠀books for⠀adult⠀licensed⠀product.⠀The⠀Project⠀Editor⠀will be⠀responsible⠀for⠀managing⠀assigned⠀originated⠀or⠀acquired⠀books for⠀Thunder⠀Bay Press,⠀Canterbury⠀Classics,⠀and⠀Portable⠀Press. In⠀addition⠀to⠀planning⠀and⠀overseeing⠀all⠀aspects of⠀the book⠀development⠀process⠀from⠀initial⠀idea to⠀execution⠀for⠀assigned⠀titles,⠀the⠀Project⠀Editor⠀will also⠀communicate⠀and work⠀closely⠀with⠀outside⠀licensors⠀and⠀project⠀producers⠀and act as⠀liaison⠀between⠀the⠀outside⠀teams and⠀internal⠀stakeholders⠀to assure⠀clear⠀communication⠀and⠀on-brand⠀project⠀results.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Assist in⠀the⠀development,⠀planning,⠀and⠀execution⠀of⠀licensed⠀Thunder⠀Bay Press,⠀Canterbury⠀Classics,⠀and⠀Portable⠀Press⠀books.
• Participate⠀in all⠀stages of⠀product⠀development⠀and⠀independently⠀manage⠀assigned⠀titles and⠀series⠀formats⠀from⠀concept to⠀completion,⠀including⠀creating⠀editorial⠀content,⠀scheduling,⠀selecting⠀and⠀receiving⠀approvals⠀for⠀art/images,⠀managing⠀copy,⠀content,⠀and design⠀to align⠀with brand⠀style⠀guides,⠀reviewing⠀layouts of⠀materials,⠀creating⠀page⠀proofs,⠀reviewing⠀and⠀routing⠀manuscripts,⠀dummies,⠀components,⠀and⠀designed⠀pages, and⠀delivering⠀accurate⠀final⠀files for⠀printing.
• Write,⠀copyedit,⠀and⠀proofread⠀book cover⠀copy,⠀manuscripts,⠀catalog⠀copy,⠀sales tip⠀sheets,⠀and⠀marketing⠀materials.
• Work⠀with the⠀Editorial⠀Director,⠀Art⠀Director,⠀Senior⠀Project⠀Editor,⠀Designers,⠀and⠀Production⠀Managers⠀to produce⠀high⠀quality⠀book⠀product.
• Coordinate⠀with⠀various⠀licensors⠀to acquire⠀assets and⠀complete⠀all⠀required⠀approval⠀processes⠀in an⠀organized⠀and timely⠀manner.
• Provide⠀Sales and⠀Marketing⠀departments⠀title⠀information,⠀copy,⠀covers,⠀and⠀interiors⠀for⠀metadata⠀releases,⠀title⠀information⠀sheets,⠀and other⠀required⠀needs.
• Attend⠀regular⠀editorial⠀and⠀production⠀meetings⠀and⠀communicate⠀the status⠀of each⠀assigned⠀title⠀related to⠀the⠀schedule,⠀changes to⠀format,⠀and⠀editorial,⠀art, or⠀design⠀concerns.
• Communicate⠀with⠀publisher,⠀production,⠀design,⠀editorial,⠀licensors,⠀outside⠀producers,⠀and⠀freelance⠀talent⠀during all⠀phases of⠀development⠀and⠀troubleshoot⠀any⠀related⠀issues.
• Actively⠀participate⠀in regular⠀creative⠀meetings⠀to⠀generate⠀new ideas⠀based on⠀market⠀research.⠀Assist in⠀idea⠀development⠀and⠀execution⠀of new⠀products⠀as well as⠀refreshing⠀Thunder⠀Bay and⠀Portable⠀Press⠀backlists.
• Assist⠀in⠀creating⠀product⠀presentations,⠀mockups,⠀and sales⠀materials⠀to secure⠀customer⠀commitments.
• Oversee⠀the⠀accuracy⠀of all⠀information⠀of⠀assigned⠀projects⠀in⠀database.
• Ensure⠀all titles⠀meet the⠀Printers⠀Row⠀Publishing⠀Group⠀standard⠀of quality⠀and⠀artistic⠀excellence.
• Other⠀duties may⠀be⠀assigned,⠀directed,⠀or⠀requested.

What You Will Need:

• High⠀school⠀diploma or⠀general⠀education⠀degree⠀(GED)⠀required.
• Bachelor’s⠀degree in⠀English or⠀journalism⠀required.
• Minimum⠀of three⠀(3)⠀years’⠀editorial⠀and⠀copyediting⠀skills⠀required.
• Minimum⠀three (3)⠀plus⠀years’⠀experience⠀and⠀understanding⠀of Chicago⠀Manual of⠀Style in⠀the most⠀recent⠀edition⠀required.
• Minimum⠀of three⠀(3)⠀years’⠀editorial⠀experience⠀in a⠀publishing⠀house⠀preferred.
• Minimum⠀of three⠀(3)⠀years’⠀experience⠀in all⠀Microsoft⠀Office⠀programs⠀required.
• Minimum⠀of two (2)⠀years’⠀experience⠀in⠀InDesign⠀required.
• Minimum⠀of three⠀(2)⠀years’⠀experience⠀in Adobe⠀Creative⠀Suite⠀preferred.
• Must⠀have⠀excellent⠀communication⠀skills,⠀both⠀written⠀and⠀verbal.
• Ability⠀to speak⠀with all⠀levels of⠀the⠀organization⠀and⠀outside⠀partners.
• Familiarity⠀with⠀publishing⠀industry⠀terms⠀beneficial.
• Ability⠀to write⠀routine⠀reports⠀and⠀correspondence.
• Must⠀be⠀proficient⠀in basic⠀mathematics:⠀addition,⠀subtraction,⠀multiplication,⠀and⠀division.
• Ability⠀to⠀calculate⠀figures⠀and⠀amounts,⠀and apply⠀concepts⠀such as⠀fractions,⠀percentages,⠀ratios,⠀and⠀proportions⠀to⠀practical⠀situations.
• Ability⠀to do⠀basic⠀statistical⠀analysis.

Salary: $66,560.00 - $70,000.00
