The Program Director of Digital and Performing Arts is responsible for leading faculty, promoting a student-centered academic culture, and ensuring the effective management of the Associate in Arts degree program pathway and related programs. This role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and excellence in teaching while maintaining a collegial and high-performing work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead curriculum development and revisions within the program, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Engage in student recruitment and retention efforts to support program growth.
  • Coordinate practicum and internship experiences, both on-site and off-site.
  • Manage the program's budget, including class schedules and resource allocation, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Collaborate with college partners on initiatives like articulation agreements and student support services.
  • Track and analyze student performance, enrollments, and learning outcomes to guide decision-making.
  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate adjunct faculty and staff, overseeing approximately 250 students.
  • Teach up to 9 credits per semester as part of the role.
  • Manage all aspects of live theater productions, including budgeting, casting, rehearsals, and technical elements like set design, lighting, and costuming.
  • Collaborate on marketing efforts for productions and program offerings.
  • Serve as an advisor to the Performing Arts student organization and collaborate on developing performing arts programs.
  • Participate in college committees and contribute to faculty and staff development initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Performing Arts or a related discipline; or a master’s with at least 18 graduate hours in performing arts or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of three (3) years managing theater productions in an educational setting.
    • Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in acting and/or technical theater.
    • Experience with the Florida College System and familiarity with SACSCOC or other regional accreditation agency policies preferred.
  • Skills: Bilingual ability is a plus.
