Production Manager

Airbus⠀Robotics⠀is looking⠀for a⠀Production⠀Manager to⠀join our⠀Manufacturing⠀department⠀based in⠀Mukilteo,⠀WA. Airbus⠀Robotics⠀designs,⠀manufactures,⠀and⠀integrates⠀automated⠀assembly⠀and⠀control⠀systems⠀for⠀research⠀and⠀industrial⠀manufacturing⠀applications⠀in the⠀aerospace⠀industry.⠀Our tools⠀are used⠀in the⠀direct⠀manufacture⠀of⠀large-scale⠀aerospace⠀structures.⠀We have a⠀dynamic,⠀talented,⠀and⠀collaborative⠀team and⠀want those⠀who are⠀energized⠀by⠀contributing⠀to⠀solutions⠀to solve⠀our⠀customer's⠀toughest⠀problems.⠀The⠀Production⠀Manager is⠀responsible⠀for⠀actively⠀driving⠀and⠀managing⠀the⠀production⠀space and⠀workforce⠀to build⠀our⠀products⠀on time,⠀on cost,⠀and on⠀quality.

Project-Centric Production Management

• Own the⠀production⠀phase of⠀each⠀project.⠀Ensure⠀each⠀project is⠀driven to⠀the target⠀date.⠀Escalate⠀issues⠀outside of⠀Production⠀Management⠀responsibilities⠀that will⠀block⠀reaching⠀the target⠀date to⠀the⠀appropriate⠀organization.
• Escalate⠀if⠀materials,⠀drawings,⠀or⠀resources⠀are not⠀available⠀to start⠀and finish⠀builds on⠀schedule.⠀Send⠀inquiries⠀to the⠀purchasing⠀department⠀on part⠀availability,⠀engineering⠀on drawing⠀availability,⠀and Head⠀of⠀Production⠀on⠀resource⠀shortages.
• Optimize⠀production⠀schedule⠀and drive⠀continuous⠀process⠀improvements.
• Ensure⠀technical⠀issues⠀arising on⠀builds are⠀delegated⠀and closed⠀efficiently.
• Participate⠀in the⠀creation,⠀maintenance,⠀and⠀distribution⠀of a⠀production⠀plan to⠀anticipate⠀factory⠀and⠀resource⠀capacity⠀requirements.⠀Assess⠀when⠀overtime⠀is needed.⠀Operations⠀is⠀responsible⠀for⠀reporting⠀the⠀plan.
• Diligently⠀and⠀pro-actively⠀work with⠀team⠀members to⠀ensure⠀high⠀quality⠀and⠀on-time⠀deliveries⠀against⠀the plan,⠀anticipating⠀and⠀resolving⠀issues as⠀they⠀arise, or⠀informing⠀key⠀stakeholders⠀of⠀mitigation⠀plans for⠀delays.
• Generate⠀and deploy⠀comprehensive⠀work and⠀repair⠀order⠀requests,⠀ensuring⠀clear⠀instruction⠀for⠀production⠀staff.⠀This⠀includes⠀cross-referencing⠀project⠀schedules,⠀quality⠀plans, and⠀assembly⠀plans to⠀identify⠀and⠀resolve⠀discrepancies⠀or gaining⠀clarification.
• After⠀work and⠀repair⠀order⠀deployment,⠀tenaciously⠀track for⠀on-time⠀delivery⠀throughout⠀each work⠀order life⠀cycle,⠀anticipating⠀and⠀resolving⠀issues.
• Redefine⠀or newly⠀define and⠀deploy⠀processes⠀and⠀procedures⠀that⠀support⠀quality⠀control⠀and⠀quality⠀assurance⠀standards⠀for all⠀deliverables.⠀Establish⠀the need⠀for⠀resources⠀to support⠀this⠀effort and⠀advocate⠀for⠀implementation.
• Perform⠀Bill of⠀Material⠀(BOM)⠀reviews⠀and⠀project⠀inventory⠀management
• Facilitate⠀cross⠀functional⠀support⠀between⠀departments,⠀partnering⠀with other⠀leads and⠀managers⠀to⠀establish⠀definitions⠀and⠀expectations⠀of⠀output.
• Drive⠀the safety⠀initiatives⠀as first⠀priority.

General Factory Management

• Anticipate⠀and⠀prevent⠀factory⠀issues,⠀resolve⠀before⠀they occur⠀or notify⠀key⠀stakeholders⠀of⠀mitigation⠀options⠀when risk⠀or costs⠀are high⠀or out of⠀scope.
• Request⠀the⠀purchase⠀of and⠀process⠀factory⠀consumables.
• Work⠀with the⠀Machinist⠀to ensure⠀employees⠀are⠀properly⠀trained⠀and/or⠀certified⠀to use⠀shop tools⠀safely and⠀properly.
• As⠀requested,⠀provide⠀support⠀(e.g.⠀tooling⠀and⠀materials⠀provisioning)⠀to⠀employees⠀working on⠀projects⠀off-site.
• Oversee⠀spare part⠀and repair⠀(including⠀warranty)⠀processes⠀and⠀procedures⠀from⠀receipt to⠀return.
• As⠀necessary,⠀support in⠀the⠀preparation⠀and⠀execution⠀of⠀internal⠀audits or⠀customer⠀visits and⠀visitor⠀tours.
• As⠀necessary,⠀lead⠀efforts to⠀upsize⠀and/or⠀downsize⠀any⠀separate⠀factory⠀space⠀deemed⠀necessary⠀by the⠀team.

Personnel Management

• Directly⠀manage the⠀day-to-day⠀work of⠀production⠀staff.
• Lead⠀the⠀culture of⠀the⠀production⠀team.⠀Foster a⠀positive⠀workplace⠀and⠀teamwork,⠀encouraging⠀the team⠀to provide⠀constructive⠀feedback⠀when⠀issues⠀arise.
• Work⠀with Human⠀Resources⠀during the⠀hiring and⠀employee⠀development⠀processes.
• Author⠀and⠀execute⠀employee⠀reviews,⠀schedules,⠀hours-worked⠀tracking,⠀and⠀time-off⠀management,⠀as well as⠀being a⠀manager⠀who leads⠀by⠀example.
• Mentor⠀and⠀provide⠀best⠀practices⠀guidance⠀of⠀appropriate⠀behavior⠀to anyone⠀in the⠀factory⠀space.
• Lead⠀training⠀efforts⠀for⠀Assemblers⠀and⠀Technicians.

Furthermore, the ideal candidate would have the following experience and skills:

• Bachelors⠀in related⠀field plus⠀6-9 years⠀of⠀experience⠀in⠀mechanical,⠀electrical,⠀controls⠀or systems⠀production⠀in a⠀manufacturing⠀setting.
• 5⠀years of⠀experience⠀in⠀establishing⠀and⠀managing⠀quality⠀management⠀systems⠀and⠀implementing⠀5S⠀concepts.
• Ability⠀to lead⠀and⠀positively⠀motivate⠀direct⠀reports.
• Thrives⠀in a⠀dynamic⠀work⠀environment⠀with⠀regular⠀competing⠀responsibilities.
• Must⠀be a⠀pro-active,⠀energetic⠀go-getter⠀who is⠀constantly⠀looking⠀for⠀process⠀improvements.

Salaried⠀exempt⠀position⠀ranging⠀$124,000-$160,000⠀depending⠀on⠀candidate⠀experience.
