About⠀this⠀role:
The⠀director⠀championship⠀player⠀experience⠀is⠀responsible⠀for⠀driving⠀and⠀executing⠀the USGA's⠀player⠀experience⠀and⠀services⠀strategy⠀at USGA⠀Championships.⠀The⠀primary⠀focus of⠀the role⠀will be⠀the U.S.⠀Open, but⠀the⠀director⠀will also⠀work⠀across⠀seven⠀other USGA⠀championships.⠀The⠀director⠀will be⠀charged⠀with⠀creating⠀and⠀delivering⠀a⠀best-in-class⠀player⠀experience⠀at the⠀U.S. Open⠀and other⠀championships,⠀collaborating⠀with⠀multiple⠀constituencies⠀including⠀USGA⠀communications⠀teams,⠀championship⠀directors,⠀host⠀venues and⠀vendors.
What you'll do:
- Build and⠀oversee⠀the plan⠀for the⠀U.S. Open⠀(and other⠀designated⠀championships)⠀to⠀facilitate⠀player⠀logistics⠀including⠀player⠀parking,⠀transportation,⠀player⠀security,⠀general⠀player⠀movement,⠀credentials⠀and⠀ticketing.⠀Drive⠀player⠀experience⠀requirements⠀including⠀the⠀following:⠀childcare,⠀health and⠀wellness,⠀player⠀registration,⠀player⠀gifting,⠀family⠀activities,⠀player⠀hospitality⠀and player⠀locker⠀room. Work⠀closely⠀with⠀championship⠀directors⠀on food &⠀beverage⠀plans for⠀players⠀and⠀caddies,⠀special⠀amenities,⠀gifting,⠀etc.
- Work⠀with the⠀USGA⠀Championship⠀Directors⠀and the⠀on-site⠀staff to⠀develop⠀and⠀implement⠀the plan⠀for caddie⠀services⠀including⠀caddie⠀parking,⠀registration,⠀and⠀hospitality.⠀Liaise⠀with the⠀PGA Tour,⠀LPGA Tour,⠀equipment⠀manufacturers,⠀and player⠀support⠀teams on⠀logistics⠀for each⠀applicable⠀championship,⠀including⠀parking,⠀credentialing,⠀and truck⠀access.
- Benchmark⠀best⠀player⠀experience⠀practices⠀in the⠀golf and⠀other⠀sports and⠀implement⠀across⠀championships;⠀Liaise⠀with host⠀venues and⠀championship⠀directors⠀to deliver⠀player⠀experience⠀plans;⠀proactively⠀plan 2-3⠀years in⠀advance of⠀a⠀championship⠀working⠀with⠀Managing⠀Directors,⠀Open⠀Championships.
- Manager⠀player⠀experience⠀championship⠀budgets⠀and⠀scheduling⠀of teams⠀at U.S.⠀Open and⠀other⠀designated⠀championships
- Serve⠀as the⠀point⠀person for⠀the⠀championship⠀teams to⠀set⠀initial⠀hotel⠀requirements⠀and⠀identify⠀hotel⠀properties⠀and⠀private⠀housing.⠀Work with⠀the⠀on-site⠀Championship⠀Manager/Director⠀on the⠀management⠀of the⠀accommodations⠀process⠀throughout⠀the⠀championship
- Lead⠀delivery⠀of amateur⠀dinners,⠀receptions,⠀welcome⠀parties⠀and⠀reunions⠀of⠀champions⠀in⠀coordination⠀with⠀championship⠀directors⠀and⠀director⠀USGA⠀branded⠀events
- Other⠀projects⠀as⠀assigned⠀by the⠀Senior⠀Director,⠀Player⠀Relations
