The Pharmacy Technician I performs technical functions for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services under the direct supervision of licensed Clinical Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Technicians level II and III.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process outpatient prescriptions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare staff.
  • Enter prescription data into computerized systems.
  • Prepare prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
  • Manage inventory, perform cash register transactions, and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Understand and maintain patient confidentiality per legal standards.
  • Perform basic non-sterile pharmaceutical compounding.
  • Handle phone and in-person interactions professionally.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. State Registration: Active Pharmacy Technician registration in Illinois.
  2. Experience/Education (one of the following):
    • Completion of a formal training program in pharmaceutical procedures.
    • Six months of work experience in non-professional pharmaceutical practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
