Lawndale Christian Health Center (LCHC) is seeking a Pharmacy Liaison to support the nursing department by addressing prescription and medication-related issues. This role involves assisting in processing and clarifying medication requests, ensuring patients receive the correct medications in a timely manner, and serving as a bridge between pharmacies, insurance companies, and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medication Prescription Support: Receive, process, clarify, and document medication-related requests.
  • Prior Authorization Support: Assist with prior authorizations and other clinical-clerical duties within scope of training and certification.
  • Liaison Role: Facilitate communication between pharmacies, insurance companies, and clinical staff to expedite medication fulfillment for patients.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer support via phone and in person.

Qualifications:


Skills:

    • Strong customer service and phone skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse staff and patients, treating everyone with kindness and professionalism.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear communication with co-workers and pharmacy staff.
  • Work Ethic:
    • Integrity, punctuality, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative, while setting priorities aligned with the clinic's mission.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing or stressful conditions.
  • Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology is helpful.
    • Experience managing medications and processing prescription requests is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

Required Experience & Education:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in managing medications and entering prescription data into electronic systems is beneficial.
    • An OIG background check will be conducted.
