Payment Operations Specialist

Aeropay is an innovative and growing payment company, backed by Chicago’s leading investors. We empower businesses with cashless, contactless payment solutions, enhancing safety and convenience for customers by enabling payments through mobile devices. Following our recent Series B funding, we are expanding our compliance and risk management team and seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payment Operations Specialist.

As a Payment Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day activities of Aeropay’s payment network. This position involves monitoring transactions, responding to alerts, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective risk management and maintain system health.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily activity across the Aeropay payment network.
• Handle requests and respond to alerts to support healthy transaction flow and manage risk.
• Collaborate with the development team to improve tools, automate repetitive tasks, and address recurring issues.
• Take ownership of payment-related issues, coordinating with external partners to troubleshoot and resolve them.
• Provide support to the broader Aeropay team as needed.
• Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, including leadership and management.
• Perform additional tasks as required to support Aeropay's mission.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Education and Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Experience in payment operations or a related field is beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 15 pounds.
