Admission Application Reader

Teachers⠀College,⠀Columbia⠀University⠀seeks⠀knowledgeable,⠀reliable,⠀and⠀detail-oriented⠀individuals⠀to join⠀our team⠀as⠀Part-Time⠀(Seasonal)⠀Admission⠀Application⠀Readers⠀for the⠀2024⠀application⠀cycle.

The⠀individuals⠀in this⠀role will⠀review⠀applications⠀from⠀approximately⠀December⠀2023 to⠀June 2024⠀for⠀various⠀graduate⠀degree⠀programs,⠀as needed.⠀Part-Time⠀(Seasonal)⠀Admission⠀Application⠀Readers⠀will⠀report to⠀assigned⠀staff⠀members of⠀the Office⠀of⠀Admission⠀and work⠀under the⠀additional⠀supervision⠀and⠀guidance⠀of⠀relevant⠀program⠀faculty.

Part-Time (Seasonal) Admission Application Readers will be required to:

• Participate⠀in various⠀training⠀sessions⠀via⠀Zoom
• Review⠀assigned⠀applications⠀by target⠀deadlines⠀using an⠀online⠀application⠀system,⠀Technolutions⠀Slate, for⠀an⠀estimated⠀total of⠀15-35⠀hours per⠀week⠀(depending⠀on an⠀individual⠀reader’s⠀availability)
• Review⠀application⠀files in⠀accordance⠀with a⠀designated⠀rubric
• Thoughtfully⠀apply⠀evaluation⠀protocols⠀and⠀knowledge⠀of the⠀program
• Exercise⠀discretion,⠀sensitivity,⠀and⠀professional⠀judgment⠀when⠀managing⠀highly⠀confidential⠀information⠀about⠀applicants⠀and⠀process;⠀candidates⠀must sign⠀a⠀confidentiality⠀agreement
• Communicate⠀with their⠀assigned⠀supervisor⠀about⠀application⠀reading⠀progress⠀on a⠀weekly⠀basis and⠀as⠀requested

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's⠀degree or⠀the⠀equivalent⠀in⠀training⠀or⠀experience
• Excellent⠀organizational⠀and⠀communication⠀skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience⠀in the⠀selection⠀and⠀evaluation⠀process⠀related to⠀the⠀admission⠀of⠀students⠀to higher⠀education⠀institutions

Salary Range:

$25.00 - $34.00 / hr
