As a Multi-Platform Producer for Connect the World with Becky Anderson at Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), you will play a pivotal role in connecting global audiences with compelling stories across both television and digital platforms. This is a new, exciting position for a creative, innovative, and enterprising individual who thrives on storytelling in a multi-platform environment. You'll be tasked with managing content for both TV and digital platforms, creating fresh and engaging material for international audiences, with a special focus on the Middle East.
You will be a key driver in growing the show’s digital and broadcast audience by leveraging cutting-edge production techniques and a deep understanding of social media trends. Collaborating closely with CNN’s broadcast team, you’ll take charge of long-form projects, quick-turnaround content, and everything in between—delivering impactful stories to CNN’s global audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Audience Growth and Engagement:
- Proactively manage and grow Connect the World’s audience across all platforms, utilizing TV broadcast content and reimagining it for digital and social media.
- Develop and execute new strategies to connect with audiences online and through social media, amplifying the show's reach.
Content Creation and Execution:
- Conceptualize, plan, and produce multi-platform content, including copy, video, and graphics, that works for both broadcast and digital audiences.
- Produce bespoke digital-first elements for all show projects, including interviews, outside broadcasts, and daily production.
Multi-Project Management:
- Juggle multiple projects, from long-term initiatives that may take months to develop, to fast-paced news-of-the-day content created on tight deadlines.
- Coordinate with CNN’s digital and social teams worldwide to ensure maximum reach for content.
Cross-Platform Collaboration:
- Work closely with the daily broadcast team to ensure the best content from TV is adapted for digital platforms.
- Engage with teams across CNN’s network to maximize audience engagement and brand visibility.
Digital and Social Focus:
- Ensure every Connect the World project includes tailored digital-first elements, creating a seamless experience across platforms.
- Build and maintain the show’s presence on social media, utilizing trends and audience insights to drive significant engagement and audience growth.
Selection Criteria:
Essential Skills:
- Self-starter: Able to initiate, develop, and flawlessly execute original ideas.
- Editorial Experience: Minimum of 3 years of production or editorial experience, with a strong preference for broadcast journalism experience.
- Control Room Expertise: Proven experience in control room outputting and show-building.
- Digital and Social Expertise: Strong track record of delivering exceptional projects across digital and social platforms.
- Writing Skills: Exceptional writing abilities to craft engaging, audience-focused content.
- Fast Decision-Making: Ability to make tough decisions under pressure and work in a highly organized manner.
- Middle East Expertise: Demonstrable knowledge of current affairs and the Middle East region.
Desirable Skills:
- Multilingual: Proficiency in regional languages is an advantage.
- Middle East Experience: Experience working and living in the Middle East is preferred.
