Mission

The⠀mission of⠀the React⠀Native⠀Mobile App⠀Developer⠀is to lead⠀the⠀development⠀of Hello⠀Chef’s⠀mobile⠀application⠀that⠀delivers⠀exceptional⠀user⠀experiences⠀while⠀ensuring⠀the⠀highest⠀standards⠀of⠀performance,⠀reliability,⠀and⠀maintainability.

Accountabilities, Goals and Outcomes:

• Take⠀accountability⠀for SLOs⠀on key⠀user⠀journeys⠀on the⠀mobile⠀app, and⠀maintain⠀them at⠀99.9%.
• Maintain⠀the unit⠀test⠀coverage⠀for the⠀Hello Chef⠀mobile app⠀above⠀70%.
• Together⠀with the⠀team, keep⠀the number⠀of escaped⠀defects in⠀production⠀below 2⠀per⠀month.
• Implement⠀product⠀initiatives⠀using⠀software⠀development⠀best⠀practices⠀with near⠀high test⠀coverages⠀for all⠀new code⠀contributions⠀and⠀on-time⠀delivery.
• Identify⠀and⠀resolve⠀bottlenecks⠀and⠀performance⠀issues,⠀leveraging⠀profiling⠀and⠀debugging⠀tools.

What you'll do:

• Act as a⠀subject⠀matter⠀expert in⠀React⠀Native,⠀driving⠀the⠀adoption⠀of best⠀practices⠀and⠀innovative⠀solutions.
• Lead⠀the⠀architectural⠀design and⠀development⠀of mobile⠀applications,⠀ensuring⠀scalability⠀and⠀flexibility.
• Optimize⠀application⠀performance,⠀reducing⠀load times⠀and⠀improving⠀responsiveness⠀for a⠀seamless⠀user⠀experience.
• Identify⠀and⠀resolve⠀bottlenecks⠀and⠀performance⠀issues,⠀leveraging⠀profiling⠀and⠀debugging⠀tools.
• Enforce⠀coding⠀standards⠀and⠀maintain a⠀high level⠀of code⠀quality to⠀ensure the⠀long-term⠀maintainability⠀of the⠀codebase.
• Implement⠀and⠀promote⠀code⠀reviews to⠀drive⠀continuous⠀improvement.
• Develop⠀and⠀maintain⠀cross-platform⠀mobile⠀applications⠀using⠀React⠀Native,⠀ensuring⠀consistent⠀functionality⠀and⠀appearance⠀across⠀different⠀platforms.
• Publish⠀the app on⠀App Store⠀and Play⠀Store.
• Collaborate⠀with⠀designers⠀to⠀implement⠀intuitive⠀and⠀visually⠀appealing⠀user⠀interfaces.
• Ensure⠀adherence⠀to design⠀guidelines⠀and⠀responsiveness⠀on various⠀screen⠀sizes.
• Establish⠀and⠀maintain⠀comprehensive⠀testing⠀strategies,⠀including⠀unit,⠀integration,⠀and⠀end-to-end⠀testing.
• Ensure⠀rigorous⠀testing of⠀applications⠀to catch⠀and⠀address⠀bugs and⠀issues⠀early in⠀the⠀development⠀process.
• Create⠀and⠀maintain⠀documentation⠀for code⠀and⠀technical⠀processes.
• Share⠀knowledge⠀with the⠀team⠀through⠀mentoring,⠀training,⠀and⠀workshops.
• Stay⠀up-to-date⠀with the⠀latest⠀developments⠀in React⠀Native and⠀mobile app⠀development⠀technologies.
• Encourage⠀a culture⠀of⠀continuous⠀learning⠀and skill⠀enhancement⠀within the⠀team.
• Collaborate⠀closely⠀with⠀product⠀managers,⠀designers,⠀and⠀backend⠀developers⠀to deliver⠀projects⠀on time⠀and within⠀scope.
• Participate⠀in sprint⠀planning,⠀task⠀estimation,⠀and⠀project⠀management⠀activities.
• Quickly⠀diagnose⠀and⠀resolve⠀complex⠀technical⠀issues,⠀ensuring⠀minimal⠀disruption⠀to the⠀user⠀experience.
• Implement⠀proactive⠀monitoring⠀and⠀alerting⠀solutions⠀to⠀identify⠀and⠀address⠀potential⠀problems
• Contribute⠀to the⠀Engineering⠀department’s⠀vision and⠀long-term⠀goals by⠀executing⠀on the⠀technical⠀roadmap⠀and⠀actively⠀reducing⠀technical⠀debt.

What we are looking for:

• A minimum⠀of 4-5⠀years of⠀experience⠀with⠀Mobile App⠀Development
• A⠀minimum of⠀2-3 years⠀of⠀experience⠀building⠀iOS and⠀Android⠀apps with⠀React⠀Native
• Experience⠀with⠀TypeScript
• Experience⠀with unit,⠀functional,⠀and⠀integration⠀tests⠀using Jest⠀or other⠀equivalent⠀frameworks
• Solid⠀understanding⠀of⠀JavaScript⠀fundamentals,⠀ES6⠀features,⠀and⠀asynchronous⠀programming
• Knowledge⠀of state⠀management⠀libraries⠀such as⠀Redux or⠀MobX for⠀managing⠀complex⠀application⠀states
• Ability⠀to⠀optimize⠀app⠀performance⠀for a⠀buttery⠀smooth⠀user⠀experience
• Experience⠀with Expo⠀platform⠀or other⠀equivalent⠀tools for⠀mobile app⠀DevOps
• Experience⠀with any⠀logging,⠀monitoring,⠀alerting,⠀or⠀telemetry⠀tools⠀would be a⠀plus
• Bachelor’s⠀degree in⠀computer⠀science,⠀computer⠀engineering,⠀or⠀similar
• Having⠀worked in⠀an agile⠀and⠀fast-paced⠀environment⠀(ideally⠀at an⠀e-commerce⠀or⠀logistics⠀company)⠀would be a⠀plus
• Strong⠀communication⠀skills:⠀you⠀possess⠀the⠀ability to⠀communicate⠀complex⠀problems⠀in a⠀simple and⠀effective⠀way
