The Logistics Specialist will manage material flow in and out of the plant, work closely with the Logistics team and third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses, ensure inventory accuracy, and address storage requirements. This role emphasizes continuous improvement, inventory management, and collaboration within a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Ordering and Procurement:

    • Manage the ordering process for raw materials, packaging, tank farm supplies, and traded goods to ensure timely availability.
  • Receipt Management:

    • Oversee the receipt process for raw materials and trading goods, managing work cycles and SAP transactions to support 3PL operations.
  • Inventory Accuracy:

    • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle count management and necessary adjustments to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Collaboration with 3PLs:

    • Coordinate with 3PL warehouses and tollers, providing work instructions, approving lots for shipping, and offering required support.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Collaborate with the quality department to manage inventory and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:

    • Engage with corporate roles to align plant capabilities and execute the supply plan efficiently.
  • Service Management:

    • Oversee services related to trailer rentals, repairs, waste management, and propane supply to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Hazmat Management:

    • Manage hazmat satellite storage reporting and ensure compliance with safety regulations.


Physical Requirements and Environment:

  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suits, and full-face respirators.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be comfortable working in high hazard environments, including extreme weather, elevated and confined spaces, and noisy surroundings.


Required Qualifications:

  • Data Management: Ability to analyze and manage large data sets to inform decision-making and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborative Culture: Ability to promote a friendly, collaborative workplace culture.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Experience in raw material management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Macro Skills: Familiarity with using macros for data analysis and process automation.
