The Marketing and Communications Specialist II at Benaroya Research Institute (BRI) is a key role within the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) department. The specialist will assist in producing high-quality content, managing both internal and external events, and acting as a brand ambassador. This role is perfect for a creative and organized professional who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Support: Plan and execute internal and external events aligned with BRI's strategic goals. Represent BRI at community events as a brand ambassador.
- Content Creation: Assist in writing and editing content for internal/external communications, including fact sheets and social media posts.
- Brand Representation: Act as a liaison between the MarCom department, BRI staff/leadership, board members, contractors, and agencies.
- Public Relations: Coordinate PR and media opportunities, supporting efforts to grow BRI’s visibility and community engagement.
- Social Media Management: Develop social media strategies and editorial calendars, post content, engage with followers, and track metrics. Provide social media support to BRI leadership.
- Project Management: Lead or support marketing and communication projects as needed, handling administrative tasks for the Director and department.
Required Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field with 3-5 years of experience in public relations or communications, ideally in a medical research, healthcare, or nonprofit environment.
- PR and Social Media: Proven experience in public relations and managing platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with software such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and InDesign. Strong organizational and communication skills are crucial.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license required.
- Flexibility: Willing to occasionally work outside of normal business hours.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $68,130 - $104,240 per year
