ICE Futures U.S., Inc. is a U.S. derivatives exchange regulated by the CFTC, specializing in commodity futures and options. The Market Regulation Department is dedicated to enforcing exchange rules through market advisories, investigations, and disciplinary actions. This full-time role presents a unique opportunity to join the team as a Market Regulation Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Monitoring: Monitor the relationship between cash commodities and futures, with a focus on energy and agricultural markets.
- Product Assessment: Evaluate new products to ensure system readiness and relevant surveillance controls.
- Position Limit Exemptions: Review and approve applications for exemptions, adhering to Exchange rules.
- Inquiry Responses: Address questions on position limits, open interest, product specifications, and delivery procedures.
- Data Analysis: Analyze real-time and post-trade data to identify irregularities, breaches, or potential rule violations.
- Documentation: Document detailed analyses of trading activities and positions.
- Investigations: Conduct investigations into potential rule violations, including gathering testimony, compiling records, and drafting reports for disciplinary committees.
- Market Guidance: Build relationships with participants and provide guidance on Exchange rules.
- Data Management: Work with complex datasets and continually seek process improvements.
- Collaborative Efforts: Partner with technology teams to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or Math.
- 7+ years in regulatory or market surveillance roles.
- Knowledge of Federal regulations, policies, and developments in market surveillance.
- Expertise in commodities markets, particularly financial and agricultural sectors.
- Understanding of physically settled futures markets, commodities, and trading.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in managing teams is an asset.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools is preferred.
- Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Comfortable communicating with market participants, regulators, and executive management.
- Familiarity with exchange operations, trading, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Schedule & Work Flexibility:
This role offers the flexibility to work from home one day per week.
Compensation:
The New York base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000, excluding incentive compensation, with specific salary dependent on individual skillset and experience.
