Job Overview

The Machinist Trainee will play a key role in the transport, loading, and operation of machine tools used in producing high-quality steel forgings. This role provides an opportunity to develop essential skills within the first 90 days of employment while ensuring safety and efficiency in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Compliance: Strictly follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Material Handling: Safely transport, load, and unload steel forgings.
  • Machine Operation: Operate, clean, and perform minor maintenance on various machine tools.
  • Work Documentation: Record work activities accurately per instructions and work order packets.
  • Maintenance: Conduct minor maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support safety and productivity.
  • Skill Development: Learn and master two skills related to machinist work within the first 90 days.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure.
  • Strong English communication skills (written and oral).

Preferred:

  • Prior industrial experience.
