This entry-level position offers an opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team, working under the direct supervision of our lighting team leader. You'll contribute to projects spanning education, healthcare, corporate, sports, and science and technology markets, focusing on both new construction and renovation.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in preparing construction documents and specifications for lighting and control systems under direct supervision.
  • Assist in designing lighting and control systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients.
  • Analyze lighting and engineering documents and develop system layouts.
  • Apply electrical and energy codes, as well as IES recommendations, to lighting and control system designs.
  • Perform illuminance and lighting power density calculations, as well as prepare project documentation for rebates, LEED/WELL certifications, and other required records.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance quality, coordination, and streamline production.
  • Review and mark up shop drawings and submittals.
  • Respond to RFIs and review change orders as part of construction documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
  • Take on additional tasks as required, including overtime work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (anticipated graduation by Spring 2025).
  • Coursework in building systems engineering or architecture strongly preferred.
  • Internship or related work experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Revit MEP, AGI, Adobe Creative Suite, and tools like ComCheck and Bluebeam.
  • Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Trello, Teams, and Procore is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively.
