This is a job description for the Legal Executive Assistant (LEA) role at Perkins Coie LLP, which involves providing high-level executive, administrative, and legal support to assigned lawyers. Key Responsibilities:
Executive Assistance:
- Manage calendars, scheduling, and travel arrangements.
- Handle emails, client communications, and meeting documents.
- Stay updated on software and assist with technical issues.
- Approach client interactions with professionalism.
Legal Support:
- Oversee lawyers’ workloads, anticipate tasks, and track completion.
- Collaborate with teams, create and revise legal documents.
- Maintain accurate files and document management.
Business Development:
- Update the firm's CRM system with client information.
- Assist in organizing events and client growth initiatives.
- Help with client proposals, pitches, and lawyer bio updates.
Work to Cash:
- Handle client intake, time entry, billing, and processing of invoices.
- Maintain knowledge of billing rules and prepare accounting documents.
General:
- Support the integration of new partners, maintain desk references, and ensure seamless operations.
- Utilize workflow tools, contribute to process improvements, and maintain confidentiality.
- Be familiar with firm policies and adhere to attendance expectations.
- Notary public qualification and hospitality assistance may be required.
Required Skills:
- Thorough understanding of legal terminology and court procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work independently in high-pressure environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong typing skills (75 wpm).
- Strong work ethic, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with technology programs and ability to learn client-specific systems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least 5 years of administrative/legal experience, with 3 years supporting senior-level executives or partners in a law firm or professional service environment.
