The Legal Assistant position at Brattle offers a unique opportunity for candidates to engage in substantive legal work with a focus on client and corporate vendor agreements. This position provides close cooperation with the Legal Department and interaction with both domestic and international staff, external law firms, and client procurement teams. It offers the right candidate increasing responsibility and challenging work as the firm expands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Assist with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of consulting client and corporate vendor contracts, such as engagement letters, master services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other corporate contracts.
  • Proposals & RFPs: Assist in preparing contract-related sections of proposals and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Project Tracking: Work with billing personnel to open and track new client projects, ensuring accurate tracking of project details.
  • General Corporate Matters: Support general corporate activities, including maintaining corporate filings, subsidiary and shareholder records, and assisting with annual corporate insurance renewals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years in a business environment, preferably in a legal or professional services firm. Internships are also considered.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Microsoft Windows.
    • Strong research, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and issues simultaneously.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility: The role may require flexibility with scheduling to accommodate different time zones across domestic and international offices.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and location (Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Washington, DC).
  • Benefits: Competitive benefits package, base salary, and a bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
