Lecturer of Healthcare

The School⠀of Human⠀Services⠀at SUNY⠀Empire⠀State⠀University⠀is⠀currently⠀seeking a⠀Lecturer⠀of⠀Healthcare⠀Administration⠀to join⠀the⠀Department⠀of Health⠀and Human⠀Services.⠀The⠀Department⠀of Health⠀and Human⠀Services⠀offers⠀associate⠀and⠀bachelor's⠀degrees⠀within the⠀Community⠀and Human⠀Services⠀area of⠀study, as⠀well as⠀Bachelor⠀of Science⠀degrees in⠀Addiction⠀Studies⠀and Public⠀Health.

SUNY⠀Empire⠀faculty⠀provide⠀individualized⠀mentoring⠀and⠀advising⠀from entry⠀through⠀graduation⠀to⠀students⠀in their⠀overall⠀academic⠀program,⠀including⠀design of⠀the degree⠀and⠀identifying⠀opportunities⠀for prior⠀learning⠀assessment.⠀SUNY⠀Empire⠀supports⠀faculty in⠀their work⠀with⠀students⠀and⠀provides⠀professional⠀development⠀activities⠀that⠀enhance⠀their⠀teaching⠀and⠀mentoring/advising⠀skills.⠀Engagement⠀in⠀scholarly⠀activities⠀and⠀ongoing⠀service to⠀the⠀university⠀is⠀supported,⠀but not⠀required.⠀A highly⠀distributed⠀organization,⠀SUNY⠀Empire⠀makes⠀extensive⠀use of⠀technological⠀applications⠀for⠀communication,⠀teaching⠀and⠀learning,⠀and⠀administrative⠀purposes.

The successful candidate will:

• Develop⠀and teach⠀online,⠀hybrid,⠀independent⠀study, and⠀in-person⠀courses in⠀Healthcare⠀Administration,⠀Health and⠀Human⠀Services,⠀Addiction⠀Studies,⠀Public⠀Health,⠀and other⠀areas⠀within⠀their⠀specific⠀expertise.
• Mentor⠀and advise⠀students⠀as they⠀develop⠀degree⠀programs⠀in a broad⠀range of⠀academic⠀areas.
• Collaborate⠀with⠀colleagues⠀in⠀curriculum⠀development⠀and⠀academic⠀assessment⠀in the⠀Health and⠀Human⠀Services⠀Department⠀within the⠀School of⠀Human⠀Services.
• Demonstrate⠀a strong⠀commitment⠀to⠀diversity,⠀equity,⠀inclusion,⠀and⠀belonging⠀across the⠀faculty⠀role.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's⠀degree⠀from a⠀regionally⠀accredited⠀US⠀university⠀or⠀comparable⠀non-US⠀university⠀in public⠀health,⠀addiction⠀studies,⠀human⠀services,⠀or closely⠀related⠀fields.
• Specialized⠀experience⠀in⠀healthcare⠀administration,⠀health and⠀human⠀services,⠀addiction⠀studies,⠀and public⠀health.
• College-level⠀teaching⠀experience.
• Experience⠀with⠀supporting⠀diverse⠀populations.
• Strong⠀communication,⠀computer,⠀and⠀organizational⠀skills.
• Ability⠀to work⠀within a⠀distributed,⠀collaborative⠀faculty⠀environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated⠀knowledge⠀of adult⠀teaching⠀and⠀learning.
• Experience⠀with⠀learning⠀technologies,⠀online⠀teaching,⠀and course⠀development⠀and⠀revision.
• Experience⠀with⠀academic⠀and⠀outcomes⠀assessment.
• Bilingual⠀and⠀biliterate⠀in Spanish⠀and⠀English.

Special Information:

• Full-time⠀temporary⠀12-month⠀position.
• Occasional⠀travel⠀will be⠀required⠀to fulfill⠀university⠀commitments.
• Office⠀hours will⠀vary to⠀accommodate⠀students'⠀needs.
• Some⠀evening⠀and/or⠀weekend⠀engagement⠀with⠀students⠀is⠀required.

Rank/Salary: Lecturer, $65,000.
