The⠀Department⠀of Public⠀Administration⠀at⠀Binghamton⠀University⠀seeks⠀applications⠀for a⠀Lecturer⠀faculty⠀appointment⠀to begin⠀Fall, 2024⠀for a⠀three-year⠀renewable⠀contract.⠀The⠀Department⠀of Public⠀Administration⠀is home to⠀a⠀NASPAA-accredited⠀Master of⠀Public⠀Administration⠀(MPA)⠀program,⠀which⠀provides⠀opportunities⠀for⠀students⠀to⠀specialize⠀in local⠀government⠀management,⠀nonprofit⠀management,⠀sustainable⠀communities,⠀and⠀genocide⠀and mass⠀atrocity⠀prevention.⠀Several⠀dual and⠀accelerated⠀degree⠀options⠀are⠀available⠀for⠀students.⠀In⠀addition,⠀a new⠀Master of⠀Public⠀Policy⠀Program⠀will begin⠀in Fall⠀2024.

We⠀welcome⠀applications⠀from⠀individuals⠀prepared⠀to teach⠀at least⠀three⠀courses in⠀the MPA⠀program,⠀including⠀core⠀courses⠀and⠀electives.⠀Examples⠀of courses⠀include⠀those that⠀address⠀foundational⠀work in⠀public⠀administration⠀(such as⠀21st⠀Century⠀Governance⠀or⠀Foundations⠀of Public⠀Service,⠀Organization⠀Theory,⠀Public⠀Service⠀Leadership,⠀and the⠀capstone-type⠀experience⠀course.⠀Applicants⠀must⠀demonstrate⠀an ability⠀to design⠀and⠀deliver⠀courses⠀using⠀traditional⠀classroom,⠀on-line,⠀and hybrid⠀teaching⠀methodologies.⠀The⠀teaching⠀load for⠀this⠀position⠀is the⠀equivalent⠀of three⠀courses⠀each fall⠀and spring⠀semester.⠀In⠀addition⠀to⠀teaching⠀responsibilities,⠀the⠀lecturer⠀will serve⠀as a⠀faculty⠀advisor⠀for a⠀standard⠀group of⠀15-20⠀Master's⠀level⠀students⠀per year⠀and will⠀serve on⠀academic⠀and⠀service⠀committees⠀related to⠀departmental⠀needs.⠀Responsibilities⠀also may⠀include⠀curriculum,⠀program or⠀assessment⠀development⠀activities.

We⠀prefer⠀candidates⠀with an⠀established⠀record of⠀effective⠀teaching⠀core⠀public⠀administration⠀topics and⠀a⠀demonstrated⠀ability to⠀provide⠀student-focused⠀advising⠀and⠀mentorship⠀for our⠀future⠀public⠀service⠀professionals.⠀In⠀addition,⠀applicants⠀should be⠀able to⠀demonstrate⠀innovation⠀in⠀pedagogy,⠀assessment⠀of⠀learning,⠀and other⠀aspects of⠀public⠀administration⠀education.⠀Experience⠀with⠀curriculum⠀design and⠀development⠀in the⠀area of⠀public⠀policy is⠀also a⠀plus for⠀the⠀development⠀of our new⠀Master of⠀Public⠀Policy⠀Program.
