Laundry Washer

• To⠀understand⠀and⠀strictly⠀adhere to⠀the⠀hotel’s⠀policy on⠀fire,⠀hygiene,⠀Health,⠀and safety⠀and to⠀handle all⠀equipment,⠀linen, and⠀uniforms⠀with⠀care.
• To⠀always⠀maintain a⠀high⠀standard⠀of⠀personal⠀appearance⠀and⠀hygiene.
• To⠀maintain a⠀good⠀rapport⠀and⠀working⠀relationship⠀with⠀colleagues⠀of all⠀other⠀departments.⠀Always⠀provide a⠀courteous⠀and⠀professional⠀service.
• Ensure⠀quality⠀controls⠀are in⠀place for⠀all linen⠀processes,⠀rejecting⠀any⠀exceptions.
• Always⠀ensure a⠀clean and⠀tidy work⠀area and⠀report to⠀the⠀Supervisor/⠀Laundry⠀Manager if⠀any items⠀have been⠀damaged or⠀hazard⠀spotting.
• Removing⠀stains⠀from items⠀using the⠀appropriate⠀procedures.
• Sorting,⠀washing,⠀drying,⠀pressing,⠀and⠀folding⠀clothing⠀and other⠀textile⠀items⠀inhouse⠀lien and⠀guest⠀laundry.
• Tracking⠀maintenance⠀and⠀repairs on⠀laundering⠀equipment.
• Aware⠀of⠀different⠀washing⠀programs⠀for⠀different⠀garments.⠀Have good⠀knowledge⠀of washing⠀products⠀and how⠀and where⠀to use⠀them.
• Ensures⠀daily⠀check and⠀replaces⠀the empty⠀chemical⠀can⠀appropriately⠀prior⠀starting⠀days’⠀work and⠀updates⠀chemical⠀inventory.
• Ensure⠀cleanliness⠀of⠀equipment,⠀chemical⠀room and⠀working⠀area.
• Report⠀to⠀Supervisor/⠀Laundry⠀Manager in⠀case any⠀linen⠀items need⠀to be⠀discarded⠀or⠀replenished.
• Inspect⠀linen for⠀damage and⠀remove⠀substandard⠀linen from⠀circulation⠀and places⠀at the⠀appropriate⠀discard⠀linen⠀storing⠀place.
• Check⠀after wash⠀quality,⠀for any⠀stains⠀found on⠀article⠀should be⠀removed⠀from items⠀using the⠀appropriate⠀procedures.
• Ensure⠀the daily⠀production⠀of fresh⠀linen and⠀uniforms⠀are⠀properly⠀recorded.
• Maintain⠀and follow⠀linen⠀logbook⠀for repair⠀and⠀mending of⠀uniforms.
• Quality⠀checks any⠀linen⠀which is⠀torn is⠀placed⠀separately⠀and⠀returned⠀to the⠀seamstress⠀for⠀repair.
• Ensures⠀fresh⠀linen are⠀sorted and⠀placed to⠀the⠀designated⠀areas⠀allocated⠀for⠀different⠀departments⠀on the⠀racks/table.
• Assist⠀Supervisor⠀in the⠀inventory⠀/stock⠀check.
• Attends⠀all⠀departmental⠀training⠀and⠀multiskilled⠀training.
• Attends⠀departmental⠀daily⠀briefing⠀and⠀Meeting.
• Performs⠀any other⠀job as⠀assigned⠀by⠀Supervisor/Laundry⠀Manager
• Flexible,⠀understanding⠀and⠀supporting⠀the⠀operational⠀requirement⠀by⠀following⠀duty Rota,⠀overtime⠀to suit⠀the needs⠀of the⠀laundry⠀department.
• Ensure⠀all⠀equipment,⠀machine⠀and⠀tagging⠀machine⠀are kept⠀neat and⠀in good⠀condition⠀and⠀informing⠀Supervisor⠀on any⠀trouble⠀shooting.
• Informs⠀any guest,⠀senior⠀managements,⠀or⠀colleague’s⠀complaints/comments⠀to the⠀Supervisor/⠀Laundry⠀Manager
• Reports⠀to⠀Supervisor⠀regular⠀about⠀work.

Requirements:

• Minimum of⠀1 year⠀experience⠀in a⠀similar⠀role with⠀preferable⠀previous⠀experiences⠀in a five⠀star⠀hotel.⠀Prior⠀experience⠀in a⠀similar⠀role is⠀preferable.⠀Basic High⠀School⠀Diploma or⠀vocational⠀training⠀in⠀hospitality
• Good⠀personality⠀and⠀positive⠀attitude,⠀energetic,⠀friendly,⠀flexible,⠀motivated,⠀and able⠀to work⠀independently
• Knowledge⠀of⠀operating⠀of laundry⠀machine⠀and⠀equipment’s⠀basic⠀tailoring⠀skill
• Ability⠀to stand⠀for long⠀periods.⠀Basic⠀knowledge⠀of⠀chemicals⠀uses and⠀handling.
• Familiarity⠀with⠀cleaning⠀detergents⠀and⠀laundering⠀equipment.
