As a Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for processing financial transactions, resolving discrepancies, performing reconciliations, and managing revenue-related accounting tasks. You will ensure accurate and timely generation of financial documents and invoices, while maintaining compliance with ISO Standards and Procedures. This role also involves responding to customer disputes, conducting audits, and updating master data in the accounting system to facilitate smooth processing and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process revenue accounting transactions, including clearing exceptions, raising invoices, and conducting reconciliations, in line with ISO Standards and Procedures.
- Identify discrepancies, resolve queries, and maintain preventive controls to ensure consistent financial results.
- Assist the Supervisor or Officer with pre/post-closing accounting functions and ad-hoc assignments.
- Support internal and external customers by providing necessary information and resolving queries.
- Receipt daily collections at airport and non-airport locations, recording transactions in the General Ledger (GL), airline accounts, and debtor accounts.
- Tally and verify daily cash collections with sales reports and escalate discrepancies for resolution.
- Update the financial system with complete and accurate details to enable timely generation of financial documents such as receipts, invoices, and payment vouchers.
- Audit documentation for adherence to accounting procedures on payments, receipts, accruals, prepayments, and recoverables.
- Maintain records of process requests, inquiries, complaints, claims, and reconciliation statements, escalating discrepancies as needed.
- Respond to daily queries from staff, other finance sections, or external clients (e.g., debtors, airlines) to ensure prompt and accurate resolutions.
- Perform reconciliations for clearing accounts, debtors, creditors, petty cash, reimbursement, deduction, and accrual accounts.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in Finance & Insurance or Accounts.
- Knowledge/Skills:
- Working knowledge of office automation software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Specific experience with Fare Revenue Protection, Passenger Flown, Refund, and Revenue Master Management.
- Knowledge of fares and ticketing (IATA qualification is preferred). Understanding of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) is an advantage.
