Under general supervision and according to established procedures, the Supply Chain Associate is responsible for maintaining inventory levels for assigned hospital departments. This includes counting current stock, inputting results into the system, organizing deliveries, restocking supply areas, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of materials and equipment.
What You Will Do:
Inventory Management:
- Count and record stock levels on par sheets or handheld devices for assigned departments.
- Report significant or unexpected changes in supply levels to the supervisor for investigation.
- Enter stock level counts into the computer system and generate purchase orders to JIT distributors, as well as pick lists for each department.
Stocking & Distribution:
- Pull stock items from stores using the pick list and organize department JIT totes.
- Load and deliver supply carts to the appropriate departments, ensuring that supply areas are appropriately stocked and organized.
- Reorganize shelves and drawers as needed to maintain supply availability.
Receiving & Equipment Management:
- Check in shipping deliveries and deliver materials to the appropriate department.
- Count and record equipment charges on census sheets and deliver equipment to the assigned departments.
Communication & Problem Solving:
- Communicate with department personnel and hospital staff to inform them of new supplies and/or shortages.
- Respond to requests for immediate supply deliveries, completing requisition forms as needed.
Related Duties:
- Answer telephone calls, research basic supply problems, and report issues to the supervisor.
- Assist in placing new stock in appropriate locations, following established rotation procedures.
- Participate in annual and periodic inventory counts.
Support During Stressed Periods:
- Assist the Receiving Dock during high-demand periods.
What You Will Need:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 months of previous experience in warehousing or central distribution in a healthcare environment.
- Certification: Valid driver’s license is required for performing duties at offsite locations. If using a personal vehicle, proof of automobile liability coverage must be provided.
