Parsons is seeking a talented Inspector-CAD Operator to join our construction supervision team, focusing on landscape and infrastructure projects. This role involves the preparation of engineering drawings using CAD software and collaboration with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure drawings meet project specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- CAD Drafting: Utilize CAD software to prepare engineering drawings, including arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, and isometrics based on rough sketches or general engineering input.
- Compliance: Use technical manuals and follow directives to ensure adherence to industry standards and codes such as ANSI, PFI, and ASME.
- Data Compilation & Calculations: Perform routine calculations and compile data necessary for creating detailed drawings.
- Design Understanding: Read and interpret 2D orthographic and 3D isometric designs, including supplier and manufacturer drawings.
- Road Layout & Traffic Management: Prepare drawings related to road layouts, cross-sections, grading plans, traffic signs, road markings, and temporary traffic management.
- Drawing Organization: Independently organize and schedule drawing completions, ensuring they follow established CAD standards and procedures.
- Infrastructure Design: Prepare detailed cross-sections, utility drawings (storm, wastewater, potable water, irrigation, electrical/telecom duct bank networks), and tie-in connections for infrastructure projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other team members to align drawings with project goals and standards.
- Review & Quality Control: Revise drawings based on feedback, ensuring accuracy, compliance with codes, and quality control checks.
- Document Management: Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and related documentation for reference.
- IFC Drawings: Prepare "Issued for Construction" (IFC) drawings that include comprehensive architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping details.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Education: Diploma in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of demonstrable experience in drafting for infrastructure and landscaping projects.
- Software Proficiency: Extensive experience using computer-aided drafting software such as Civil 3D and AutoCAD; Revit Structural experience is a plus.
- Communication: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in utilizing design software and managing digital drawings is mandatory.
- Certification: Must be registered as a practicing Engineer in Abu Dhabi or have an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education.
