As a Maintenance Technician at Alsco Uniforms, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as performing facility maintenance tasks. You will be involved in electrical troubleshooting, operating and maintaining boilers, welding, cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and other related equipment. This position reports to the Chief Engineer.

- Hourly Rate: $30 - $32 per hour (DOE)

Essential Functions:
- Installation & Maintenance: Install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on industrial processing equipment and systems (water, air, machinery).
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose electrical issues and provide emergency repairs of production equipment.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes.
- Safety Adherence: Strictly follow safety rules, policies, and industry standards.
- Technical Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment and repair procedures through workshops and publications.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with all plant personnel.
- Additional Tasks: Follow written and verbal instructions, and perform other duties as required.
Additional Functions:
- Occasionally support other branch personnel.
- Drive and pick up parts or transport equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- License/Driving Requirements: Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean record (free of chargeable accidents, speeding violations, etc.).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance engineering experience with knowledge of machinery, electricity, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and boiler systems.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting ability for 3-phase 230-volt systems.
- Experience in PLC programming, carpentry, boiler repair, and general facility repairs.
- Skills: Proficient with power and hand tools, excellent time management, and strong verbal/written communication skills in English.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant certifications may be required (boiler license or PLC programming).
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Physical Activity: Standing, sitting, bending, lifting up to 100 lbs, working in confined spaces, using forklifts, and performing manual tasks.
- Environmental Conditions: Work in indoor and outdoor environments, around large machinery, with temperature variations, noise, humidity, dust, and odors typical of industrial laundry facilities.
- Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to procure parts.
Work Environment:
The Maintenance Technician will work in both indoor and outdoor areas typical of industrial laundry facilities and be exposed to the physical demands of operating heavy machinery, maintenance equipment, and performing manual labor.
