Main Responsibilities:
Academic Support:
- Assist in lesson planning, assessments, and management of student work.
- Prepare materials and resources for class and individual student tasks.
- Lead or assist groups of children in completing activities.
- Provide ICT equipment support and assist with its use in class.
Student Supervision & Support:
- Comfort and support vulnerable children, ensuring emotional well-being.
- Supervise students during transitional times (e.g., cloakroom, playtime) and ensure safe movement to and from school.
- Help manage playground supervision, ensuring child safety.
Classroom and Resource Management:
- Set up and tidy away art and craft materials, ensuring classrooms are organized.
- Assist in displaying children's work and labeling/storing equipment.
Safeguarding & Reporting:
- Follow the school's safeguarding procedures, reporting any incidents or concerns to appropriate authorities.
Bus Supervisor Responsibilities:
When required, Inclusion Teaching Assistants may also serve as bus supervisors:
- Oversee student safety while boarding, traveling, and alighting from the bus.
- Maintain student discipline and ensure all students are securely fastened during the journey.
- Perform safety checks on the bus, ensuring no child is left behind.
- Report delays or incidents to parents and prepare necessary reports.
Health and Safety:
- Actively promote and teach students about safety in all aspects of school life.
- Safeguard the well-being of students during lessons and while they are on school premises, taking responsibility for student conduct and health measures.
