The Human Resources Manager will provide HR leadership for site operations in Victoria, TX. This role is responsible for managing all functional HR areas including employee relations, recruitment, retention, employee development, succession planning, salary administration, payroll, benefits, and staffing. You will work closely with the plant management team to ensure compliance with employment law, recommend improvements within the HR function, and foster a positive, accountable work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Strategy and Policy Management:
- Develop, implement, and manage company HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Advise managers on human resources-related issues and provide guidance on policies, procedures, and employment laws.
Employee Relations and Development:
- Provide general HR support on employee relations concerns, and work with management to resolve high-risk employee issues, including conducting investigations and recommending appropriate actions.
- Foster a positive work environment and employee satisfaction through engagement initiatives, coaching, and performance feedback.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to ensure a high-performance culture and alignment with company goals.
- Plan and conduct new hire onboarding to create a positive attitude toward company goals.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Manage government reporting and ensure the accuracy of required reports, policies, and employee records.
Team Leadership:
- Plan, organize, review, and evaluate the work of the HR team.
- Provide support and professional development to HR team members to ensure they stay current with HR best practices.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer benefits programs in coordination with Corporate HR.
- Manage the preparation of corrective actions and support management in employee performance improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
- PHR or SHRM certification is a plus.
Experience:
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Solid knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
- Proven ability to deliver presentations to large groups.
- Strong analytical, project management, and strategic thinking abilities.
