The Human Resources Support Specialist will provide essential technical support to supervisors, employees, and managers in recruiting, hiring, promoting, and retaining a qualified workforce. This role directly contributes to the agency’s goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion, helping WSP achieve its hiring and workforce management objectives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Personnel/Payroll Transactions:

    • Prepare and process personnel and payroll transactions for employees in covered and non-covered bargaining unit positions.
  • Volunteer and Intern Program:

    • Assist with rotational duties and provide support to the agency’s volunteer and intern program.
  • New Employee Orientation:

    • Help coordinate new employee orientation by ensuring new hire paperwork, notifications, and documents are accurately and timely processed.
  • Promotional Ceremonies:

    • Assist in the coordination of employee promotional ceremonies, including preparing agendas, resumes, daily announcements, and processing necessary orders for plaques, badges, and more. Provide day-of-event support such as setup and cleanup.
  • Support HR Operations:

    • Assist with HR functions related to recruiting, hiring, and promoting employees to support the agency’s mission of workforce management and development.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Four (4) years of office experience or related college coursework (may substitute year for year).
  • Technical Skills: One year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Telework Policy:
While this is not a full-time telework position, a hybrid work schedule may be available after completing training or the probationary period. Candidates should be able and willing to work in-office and commute as needed.
