The Athletics Graphic Design Coordinator is responsible for creating and managing various graphic design projects to enhance the visibility and engagement of the university’s athletic programs. This role involves producing print, digital, and multimedia collateral to support brand awareness, increase attendance, and recruit students. The coordinator will work with different stakeholders within the Athletic Department to deliver effective and visually appealing communications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and Production:

    • Create well-designed publications including posters, brochures, annual reports, infographics, web banners, schedule cards, e-mails, video board graphics, and other promotional materials.
    • Develop graphics that reflect the university’s athletic programs and services.
  • Marketing and Branding:

    • Assist in the development of marketing strategies and address branding issues related to the university’s Athletic Department.
    • Work with all 17 sports teams, ticketing, media relations, and athletics marketing to fulfill design needs.
  • Collaboration and Management:

    • Gather design information from Athletic Department representatives and oversee production from concept to final product.
    • Maintain consistency with the JSU athletics brand, including logos, wordmarks, colors, and fonts.
  • Event and Content Creation:

    • Schedule and direct photoshoots as needed.
    • Create engaging interactive experiences for digital mediums (video, web, print).
    • Produce real-time content for game days and special events, including social media graphics.
  • Evaluation and Communication:

    • Evaluate visual information for usability and impact.
    • Communicate with Athletic Media Relations and Marketing to ensure game day needs are met.
    • Develop relationships with stakeholders both on and off-campus.
  • Attendance and Interaction:

    • Attend university athletic events to assess the effectiveness of designs and interact with faculty, staff, students, and fans.
  • Additional Duties:

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
  • Documented experience in graphic or visual design, either permanent or freelance.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After Effects.
  • Experience in client relations.
