Under the supervision of the Communications Manager, the Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and managing visually compelling multimedia communications projects, spanning digital, video, and print formats. The role serves various key audiences, including employees, prospective employees, and shareholders. This position is integral in translating communication objectives into high-quality visual content, ensuring engagement, and upholding Equity Residential's brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Production:
- Create and develop innovative graphic designs across multiple platforms, including web, print, and digital mediums.
- Develop internal communication materials, such as brochures, logos, newsletters, and promotional content, maintaining high accuracy.
- Oversee the production and printing of design pieces for employee programs and campaigns.
- Ensure designs are aligned with Equity Residential’s brand standards and style guidelines.
- Produce event materials, including speaker slides, banners, and giveaways.
- Prepare and finalize production-ready files for various communication materials.
- Ensure inclusive representation in all designs.
Collaboration and Project Coordination:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to conceptualize, plan, and deliver communication strategies.
- Manage design and media files, ensuring organized naming conventions for ease of access by the team.
- Collaborate to develop social media campaigns and oversee visual quality control on the company’s intranet.
- Collect project requirements and ensure timely completion with high-quality results.
Photography and Video Production:
- Conduct internal photography for events, and direct virtual and in-person talent for company communications.
- Storyboard, film, edit, and produce engaging video content to highlight company culture, promote employee programs, and more.
- Edit short-form video content tailored to communication objectives.
- Provide production support, including photo retouching and file preparation.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience: 2-3 years of progressive design experience, with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and imagery. Proficiency with current graphic design software and equipment.
- Web Programming Knowledge: Basic understanding of web programming is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong proofreading skills and critical eye for color accuracy.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to clearly express creative ideas and collaborate effectively with senior leadership.
- High-Pressure Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment.
